These containers have a number of advantages. They're sturdy, well-made, and attractive, and the lids close securely, which is the major flaw. Once they've been snapped shut, they're nearly impossible to open. There is no tab that protrudes from the lid to assist you in opening it. It wouldn't be possible to open without strong fingernails. You'll also need good vision to see where you should be trying to wedge your fingernails between the bowl and the lid.
