These are extremely nice! The only thing I would change is that the fabric feels scratchy and uncomfortable when touched, so I've noticed that I don't use them as much as I should. Although this may not bother some people, if you are bothered by scratchy and rough fabrics, stay away from these! Otherwise, they do a good job of keeping the heat from burning your hands and have a non-slip grip. Slip grip that works as advertised (as long as you don't mind picking them up in the first place, lol). I rarely have this issue with fabrics, so I'm not sure why it bothers me so much, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I would have given them five stars if it weren't for the fabric issue.
I bought these for my son, who needed a pot holder for when he was seasoning his wrought iron pots. He tried them once and said they didn't work, but that his cookware gets hotter than 500 degrees before it comes out of the oven, so I bought a nice pair of pot holders, and today was the first time I used them to remove a cupcake pan from a 350 degree oven and BURNED MY FINGER. I'm completely let down.
I wanted black potholders with no-slip silicone on one side for safety. These are exactly what I was looking for. I like how the hanging loops are a little bigger so they're easier to hang. They appear to be of excellent workmanship. During the removal of hot dishes, I have not noticed any heat transfer to my hands. They carry out their duties to the letter.
However, they are not rigid. These work great and look great after they've been washed, of course. They do shrink a little and appear wrinkly, but not to the point of being unusable, and they still work perfectly. As a result, they've proven to be a wonderful find for me.
For my mother, I bought these pot holders. She had been complaining about her old ones, so I purchased these for her. She appreciates the thickness, as well as the fact that she can remove hot items from the oven without fear of the heat penetrating her old, worn pot holders. She's also pleased with her exceptional grasping abilities.
Very well constructed and effectively keeps heat away from the hands. I've even used them in my cast iron skillet and they didn't let any heat through. I would strongly suggest it.
Potholders and oven mitts were both ordered. The items arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Long enough to protect forearms from heat and burns, oven mitts are an excellent choice. Pot holders in the "pocket" style are my favorite. I'll buy from you again without a doubt.
Pull out 350-400 lbs. of meat on a weekly basis. I start with 400°F pans and then realize I need to shuffle things around to get it on the table. Even so, it performed admirably. My fingers are long, so the finger pockets could be a little deeper. If you have normal or small hands, you should be fine. I've washed it a few times and there are no visible flaws.
