They're thicker than others I've used and seen - ideal for setting hot items on counters, tables, etc. both in terms of the trivet's actual height and the thickness of the honeycomb structure's "walls. " They become stronger as a result of this. I use them as trivets under hot dishes and for removing small dishes from the oven, but I also use them as "padding" between my pans to protect the enamel or nonstick coating of the pans on top of them. When they're dirty, simply toss them in the dishwasher to clean them, then remove them, shake off the excess water, and air dry. This is fantastic!.
I would strongly suggest it. These are the counter protectors that I use. br>On these, I've put hot, hot cast iron. When I was chopping, I used these to keep the blades from sliding around. I also use them to protect my handmade pottery from chipping when I use it on marble counter tops. I especially like that after you've finished using it, you simply rinse it in the sink and dry it on a dish rack or on top of a dish towel. (Shaking off some of the water before leaving to dry will help. ) I'm so fond of these that I'm considering giving them away as gifts.
This is a lovely set of silcone trivits that are just the right size for pots. pans. I use them on a daily basis, and they're incredibly simple to clean if anything spills on them. They keep the heat off the table, which is exactly what I wanted!.
It's hard to believe that these items, which appear to melt or tear easily, are more heat resistant than my pot holders and grippers, despite the fact that they look so vibrant and complement my kitchen so well.
The hot pad is fantastic. Take something hot out of the oven and place it on the pad; the silicone will not be melted. I'm also a fan of the "non-traditional" approach. The pad's "anti-skid" feature. It isn't slid around in any way.
They aren't big enough to give you a good grip without burning your hands. Get some hit pads and work on removing the garlic skin.
They're a little too thick, though, for the flexibility I prefer in a hot pad for grabbing a hot pot or pan.
Only when they become dirty in the small grooves do they become an issue. They are still a good buy because I like and use them frequently.
