I don't know what those other people were doing, so that's probably why I didn't even need to put my hand underneath mine. They must have been swinging the latches or bumping them together. If you don't have it latched properly, you need to do that. Nevertheless, I purchased the cake so I could take it to a few holiday events so I can bring my family's Christmas bundt cake. A lot of space was left in the top of the platter because it fit perfectly on it. It is very easy to fold down the top for easy storage. What a cool idea! I love it!.

My guess is that it would have been smaller if I had expected it to be. That's a large amount of money. If your kitchen does not have enough cabinet space, this can be a problem. It's a small kitchen in my house. There are a couple of problems with the plastic, including the fact that closing the latches too forcefully will cause them to break. There's no easy way to collapse it. It's a mixed bag of emotions for me regarding this carrier. But I also appreciate the fact that the cupcakes don't slide all over the table. The cupcakes do not fall and get ruined on the way, so I can transport them with ease. Generally speaking, I find it to be a good.

I appreciate the effort that went into making this. The cupcake tiers seemed to slide around on the base at first, so I was concerned. There was no movement in those trays. The only thing I dislike about it is that I find it a little difficult to put the cupcakes into the slots once they are iced due to the spacing between the slots. The reason I bought this is that I am the one who makes desserts for every holiday and cook-out. I love making them, but it is difficult when I prepare more than one thing at a time. There isn't nearly as much height to it as I wanted, and it doesn't collapse as flat as I would like. A little flimsy seems to be the stand. You have to wrestle with the clasps to release them. My local big box retailer offers the exact same hold for $11 as Amazon and I just noticed the price on Amazon constantly changes. A used one like new costs $25 (I paid $25 for a used one). The amount is between $10 and $15.

Cupcakes, cake pies and other sweet confections will fit well inside this carrier. When you need it, the dome can be popped up or collapsed. Even though I leveled the cupcakes on the car seat, the cupcakes stayed in place for the 8-mile drive. To prevent the bottom tray from sliding around I put a non-skid pad under it, but once the cupcakes and lid are in place it will stay put anyway once the weight is locked in. It has also been used as a 9 in the past. I used the 5" pie carrier with the dome collapsed and it worked great! It is easy to clean you can simply hand wash it instead of putting it Make sure you lock the clips tightly when you are securing them, you want to make sure everything is perfectly secure before you release them. It is always a good idea to have a hand beneath when carrying things like this because you never know what may happen, so I "belt and suspenders" things like this rather than risk losing.

A word of caution, if you have delicate cupcakes, be extra careful not to bump them on the leg (as you walk with them) or against a table or something, because those cupcakes will bounce right out. I tried it, but the insides of the cupcakes are a total mess.
