It is so great, but This unit requires a filter, but all standard perc filters will not work
3/5

My wife and I drink a lot of coffee, so this urn is an obvious purchase. It took me quite a bit of time to do my research on urns, why they work, and the features I wanted in them. I found the urn to be perfect for all these My excitement over receiving the parcel, once the courier dropped it off, meant that I unboxed and filled it with water right away. Here is my first water pot being "brew" to see how long it takes and how hot the water gets. The most astounding thing ever. This is a fast and HOT day! What I mean is. The hotness is intense. The brewing of this coffee would be perfect for me since I enjoy a hot cup. As soon as I shut it off, it stayed hot for at least 2 hours. On the morning of the following day, I was beside myself with excitement and ready to start a pot. It is my intention to test the "no filter needed" basket before setting it up for the next morning. Apparently it is designed to brew standard grind coffee, as stated in the instructions. That's a good question. In the basket, I put a few scoops and shook them like a colander over the counter. On the counter, there are very few grinds. 3 or maybe 4 Small particles total 6 in number. I'm so excited! The thought occurred to me. As a final step, I washed all of the grinds in the basket under stream of water. Oh no, what a bummer! There were holes in the bottom of the basket and they went straight through them. WOW! What the heck is going on! Further research was done to determine what filter would be the best for my application. I dislike the fact that the basket has a percolator 'diverter' (I can't think of a proper term for it Picture attached) that's larger than a quarter (US coin). There is no way to remove it. If you place any filter with a small hole over the diverter and lay it in the basket, it will be compromised (cut or sliced large enough). In the event the diverter could be removed, this would not be a problem. I was even considering adding a top water sieve lid to the basket as a modification to my urn lid with a glass percolator. Removing the diverter from the basket and utilizing your standard perc filters is the next step. What's the reason for this? The urn has to be modified to the point where I can use it, not to the point it works. Is it worth it to buy a larger urn with the features I want and without modifying it? As a matter of fact, I would prefer not to have a large coffee urn on top of my It was perfect sized, so we chose the 5L size! In response to your question, I came back here and asked Says to use regular coffee grounds or percolator There was no problem in getting my regular grounds right Could you please help me? Valgus replied, "

It's actually me who is lying. " Putting a layer of filter paper on the sieve before adding the coffee powder will prevent the powder from dropping into the water before it has completely My only option is to fill out this form, but I don't have any way of contacting Valgus, so I can't ask "WHAT paper filters work in this unit?". It was impossible to find a contact phone number or email address on their seller's page, and I even Googled more "valgus" information. This has taken me hours to try and make it all work, so I'm sick of trying now. As a result of my inability to identify or find the answer(s) and inability to use the "no filter needed" feature with standard grind coffee, I am giving this a 2 out of 5 stars An overview of the ratings. In the event that that issue is resolved, I would definitely rate it a 5 This urn has both a star AND is a great smaller size! I will conclude by saying this My unit has to be returned due to my severe disappointment.

Percolating urn made from commercial grade stainless steel from Valgus
3/5

This item was purchased to ensure there was always hot water available, mostly for Sabbath and during the holiday season It is the holiday season. My favorite thing about the design and quality is the look. Regardless of the quality of this product, I am not happy with how hot this unit runs. After it reaches the boiling point, it keeps the temperature at boiling point forever. The thermal mode should have been switched to keep the room warm. It is not like this at all.
