In a moist environment, I would worry about leaving it out since it must be dried completely once you have finished using it. I've taken good care of mine with daily use for months and have not experienced any problems, but in a moist environment I would worry. Alternatively, it may be possible to use it on a grate over coals, but there should be no contact with flames.

Thank you! I am very satisfied with the I have used this teapot multiple times and I am going to buy more from this brand. The quality it great and a cast iron teapot is always a great thing to have if you drink tea often. I use larger cups at my tea corner and keep these small cups as decoration. The pot gets very hot! In fact, I keep them at my tea corner exclusively for decoration! Fill to the brim, but not too much! I would not fill it higher than the mesh strainer inside. If you do, you may burn yourself. It holds more water than expected but I wouldn't fill it larger than the mesh strainer inside. I find mine to be very useful and I use it often. It gets very hot and keeps the tea piping for a very long time.
I love this tea set, but the cups came chipped and one cup had an odd film.

In case you weren't aware, when you pour the very hot tea into the teapot, it will turn into jelly With a hot beverage, the cups will be very hot to the touch due to the heat transfer. To reach a safe handling temperature, you need to let the cups cool down.
However, I love the new set despite this, so I do not consider it a major drawback.
