Is it possible to use this for liquid fabric softener and liquid laundry soap?

I'm not sure. It's possible that laundry detergent or fabric softener is a little too thick for this. My koolaid maker and lemonade maker are both in my kitchen. It's great for drinks, but I'm not sure if it'll work for anything with a thicker consistency.

Is it possible to leave this jar in the hot sun for several hours in order to make sun tea?

In the Amazon box, this item was shattered. They demand payment in exchange for your time. I'll send photos, but I'm not going to send back a million pieces. Unsafe. Because there was so much glass in the shipping box, I had to carefully remove other items from the box outside my home.

Jar has a lovely hobnail design and is very attractive. It was purchased to hold liquid laundry detergent, and it does leak a little. I'm going to try to locate a metal spigot in the hopes that the problem will be resolved.
