Questions & Answers

What kind of substance is it?

Plexiglass or a similar material is used. It appeals to me a great deal.

If you accidentally knock the pitcher over on the table, does water pour out? Is it easy to remove the lid or is it a solid object?

It wouldn't pour out if you turned the lid with the bar across the top to close off the air. The lid may, however, pop off if you hit it hard enough in a fall. It's a little tight, but I've never dropped mine or had it knocked over. I reordered another pitcher almost immediately after receiving the first. It's a delight to serve cold apple cider or iced tea to my guests from this elegant and functional pitcher. It just has "that" look to it, and it appears to be much more expensive than it actually was. I hope this has been of assistance.

Is it a complete close when the lid is closed: Is it possible to dispense water? Is it possible for bugs to enter?

Yes and no.br>Turn the lid, and it will not.

What is the capacity in ounces?

It has a capacity of 64 people. 2 ounces

Drip- proof spout is a phrase that means "proof spout" in Finally! After years of using Takeya pitchers with the screw-on lids, I decided to try something different
5/5

on lids that are supposed to be leak-proof (hahahaha! ), I needed something with no grooves, threads, or seals to make cleaning a breeze. I would have preferred a spill-proof/sealable item. Despite the fact that the pitcher and lid appeared to be the easiest to clean, I chose this one anyway. br>br>As others have stated, this is a STURDY, no-frills beverage container. What I didn't expect to happen was - I'd given up hope of ever finding what I'd lost hope of ever finding - was a pitcher that didn't leak or drip from the spout during or after pouring. However, you pour your drinks into glasses from this pitcher and set it upright. It's also non-dripping. Amazing. br>br>I have a small refrigerator in my RV. The Takeya appealed to me because they were small enough to fit through my door. For this pitcher, I had to give up that, as well as the assurance that my iced tea would not spill when I traveled. I'll have to think about it, but I believe the trade-off will be worth it. It was well worth the effort.

It turned out to be even better than I had hoped for
5/5

The deadline for the review is May 5th. I needed to replace a Rubbermaid Clear Acrylic/Plastic Pitcher with a lid that had become brittle and cracked over time. I really wanted to get another one like the one I had, but Rubbermaid no longer makes them, so after doing a lot of research online, I settled on the Service Ideas 10-pack. 00403- Pitcher for Cold Beverage with Lid, 000, 1. 9 liters, clear On my scale, it weighs around 29 oz. It's very sturdy and heavy duty. The lid is snug in place (which is a good thing), but it is not difficult to remove. It's clear with a slight blue tint, and it's stunning, far better than I expected. I'm glad I went ahead and purchased it.

The BEST
5/5

I've never bought a better pitcher. ever. It does not stain. It's very easy to clean. Heat never causes it to crack. We make iced tea with two of them at a time. I'm nearly able to pour I've made at least 100 pitchers of light to dark tea with boiling water and it's perfectly fine; I've never had a stain. I don't use drink mixes or sugary teas; instead, I use tea bags, so I can't comment on juice-type drinks. I'll definitely buy another if I ever need one. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> My photo compares a dirty jug with a full jug of tea. These have been with me for a year and a half. There are no stains or cracks on this item. I only do my dishes by hand. Every week, I make eight jugs. These are fantastic!.

Pitcher is amazing
5/5

I was tired of having glass pitchers that broke or were difficult to handle. This is a fantastic piece. It holds just under half a gallon and is ideal for my daily juicing of 8 pounds of oranges (see photo for a full 8 pound bag squeezed). The lid is secure, and pouring is simple and spill-free. People who complain that the lid does not close properly (it has two holes - see below) One who strains and one who does not) should learn how to hold and not shake a pitcher. br>br>Because I'm making fresh OJ, it settles and separates. All I have to do is stir it with a wooden spoon or a chopstick and rinse it. Done.

Surprisingly pleased
5/5

This pitcher was less expensive than many of the other pitchers I looked at, but it is surprisingly nice; I expected a thin, light, and fragile plastic pitcher, but it is thick and solid, with a tight-fitting lid. It's built to last and has a straining or pouring lid.

Stir rather than shaking this pitcher
3/5

This was requested to replace a frozen orange juice pitcher with a flat rubber seal that sealed the lid to the pitcher. Because many juices, such as orange juice, settle when sat, the daily ritual of homogenizing the contents included a couple of inversions to mix up the contents. Leakage can occur if the flat seal is not placed precisely. It always took a few openings and closings to get the seal in the right place. Because this pitcher lacked a rubber seal or any type of seal, it appeared to be a good substitute. Unfortunately, it was a disaster the first time we used it and inverted it to promote mixing. The lid's examination revealed the reason for this. The design includes a couple of small vents that allow air to flow into the container while it is being poured. However, if the pitcher is inverted or shaken vigorously, liquid will pour out through these vents. The only way to homogenize the contents is to remove the top and then stir the liquid. It's on its way back to you.

It's HEAVY, the lid is difficult to remove, and it easily scratches and stains
3/5

I've decided to get rid of this pitcher after using it for a few months. 1 - Before you even fill the pitcher, it's quite heavy. If you don't want it to be heavy, don't buy it. The lid is extremely difficult to open and close. You'll have a hard time getting it off if you push it all the way down. It's just plastic on plastic, and it gets squished in. Trying to get rid of it, I've broken my fingernails. It is easily stained. I only use it to store iced tea, and the tea stains around the top where the lid comes into contact with it. I tried rubbing it off with a sponge while applying a lot of pressure, but the stains remained. So I used a gentle scrub sponge that isn't meant to scratch, but this pitcher scratches easily. Because of the weight and ludicrously designed lid, I've come to despise it. The pitcher received a lot of positive feedback, and I'm not sure what people think of it. I always read the "negative" reviews because they are often more informative than the positive ones. I needed a medium-sized pitcher and they're hard to come by, so I figured I'd try this one, but it turned out to be a mistake.

It was shattered
3/5

I was immediately enamored with it after the first use. Lightweight, with no "give" even when fully loaded, and a perfect no-spill spout Regrettably, I had dropped it from a 4-star rating to a 3-star rating. When I was drying it, it fell 6 inches onto the counter, and the open side shattered it from the spout to about a third of the way down. Keep in mind that my counters aren't granite. It was shattered by a simple piece of laminate. I was let down. This was already a favorite of mine. Pour almond milk into a pitcher. I expected to place additional tea and juice orders.
