It has been a number of years since I've had one of these pitchers, and I have never noticed any smell or taste coming from it. The pitcher has been used to prepare iced tea, iced beer, lemonade, as well as just water without any problems

As far as I know, I have only used them to chill liquids. Added water and iced tea to the list. *br>They're heavy plastic, so I assume that a microwave would work with them, but I haven't had the chance to test that. To fit them in a microwave, though, you'll need an especially large one.

We purchased these a year ago as a replacement for our cabin (our cabin is always full of people). They have held up well and are perfect, and we use them heavily. As a result of the 19 virus, the pitchers arrived extremely well packaged in bubble wrap, and were very easy to clean. Fill them with liquid and they will be easy to pour, since they are light weight. We are very pleased with the quick arrival and the quality of the product. Soon we hope to be able to utilize them.
