Questions & Answers

These were purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond, and the box states that they are lead-free. free. Is it true that they don't contain any lead? Another set is something I'd like to purchase. ?

I did some research and called the Mikasa factory, which confirmed that they are lead-free.br>I hope this helps.

Is this a glass made of Slovakian crystal or Chinese glass?

Produced in Slovakia. Thank you for taking the time to read this.br>

I'm curious about the height of these glasses. At the top, how big are they? At the bottom, how big are they?

1/8 inch in height At the top, it's about a quarter of an inch wide; At the bottom, it's 3/4" wide. Hem is one of my favorites. Adults and children alike will find it easy to hold. I'd like to buy another set, but they're prohibitively expensive; I hope you enjoy them.

It is far too easy to break
3/5

These glasses are beautiful, but they are prone to breakage. I have eight short Mikasa glasses, eight tall Mikasa glasses, and a large number of wine glasses. Except for 7 of my 8 Highball glasses, which are broken, all of my glass sets are complete (none are broken). The dishwasher is where I spend the majority of my time. Purchase these items at your own risk.

A martini glass that is just right
5/5

I'm a sucker for martinis. Every night before dinner, I have a martini. A good vodka, vermouth, and blue cheese olives must be used in the martini. Of course, a dash of extra virgin olive oil! The importance of the glass cannot be overstated. br>These glasses are perfect in every way: they're the perfect size, shape, and weight. They're also appealing to the eye. br>I'm glad I went ahead and purchased them.

Mikasa is no longer producing high-quality vintage glass
3/5

Spend your money somewhere else if you're looking for something thin and fragile. We have a set of four Mikasa old fashioned glasses that we purchased about eight or ten years ago. We loved them so much that we wanted to buy another set to make it a total of eight. They are pricier than your average old-fashioned glass, but that would be acceptable if they were of the same high quality as Mikasa's previous offerings. These new glasses are uninteresting and unworthy of the $40 price tag. br>br>Other companies sell comparable quality glassware at a lower price. br>br>We've had our original set for a long time and it's in excellent condition. Two of the glasses in this new Mikasa set have already broken after only a week of use. One broke when it was accidentally knocked over by a crystal wine glass, and the other broke in the sink while being hand-washed. br>br>The photo shows the quality of Mikasa's previous products (on the right) and what I just received from them in this most recent purchase (on the left). You can clearly see that the glasses have shrunk in size and are no longer as heavy or durable. br>br>* I always wash our glasses by hand, but Mikasa makes contradictory statements on their Amazon page, claiming that these glasses are "dishwasher safe" while also stating that they should be hand washed. br>br>I would never buy these or put them in the dishwasher again.

It suddenly stops working
3/5

Mikasa has always been a favorite of mine, and I've never had anything negative to say about them. to the present time. I've purchased six pairs of these glasses, and they're fantastic. They've been given as gifts, and they're in both my Canadian and American homes. I never put them in the dishwasher and treat them with the same care that I do with all of my other favorite glasses. Four of the four pairs of glasses I own have mysteriously broken. The most shocking moment occurred shortly after I had filled the glass with water and ice (I put the ice in last to reduce the impact on the glass). )I was fortunate enough to avoid being cut. I heard a distinct cracking sound today while hand-washing one, and sure enough, the glass cracked from top to bottom along the etched section.

Flutes are a lot of fun
5/5

These new champagne flutes are absolutely stunning. Because there are four distinct designs, it will be easy to tell which flute is which. br>For a couple of years, I'd been on the lookout for some unusual flutes - I'd been eyeing these for months and finally bit the bullet and ordered them online because none of the local stores had them in stock. br>I was concerned about them being shipped and arriving broken, as I'd read in other reviews, and I was even more concerned when they arrived because I could hear them moving around in the box, hitting the sides. These flutes, on the other hand, are built to last. They weren't afflicted in any way. br>These flutes are so cute, and I'm so glad to have real glasses for our next party or morning mimosas. Cheers!.

Love! These are fantastic martini glasses that are one-of-a-kind
5/5

A good-sized martini can be made with 10 oz of vodka. These glasses are larger than a couple of other glasses I own; they're not as thin as someone else said, but they're also not as thick as some other glasses I own. The glasses came in perfect condition. The product box was bubble wrapped, and Amazon placed it in the proper size box with adequate buffer material (Amazon is the seller). LLC (com Services). Tonight, my husband and I will be sipping Mint Chocolate Martinis while baking Christmas treats! Let's toast to the fact that the year 2020 is almost over.

It was very light and beautiful, but it only lasted 15 months before cracks appeared
3/5

This pitcher was bought for ice tea. It would also be lovely in a Sangria. I've had it for a few months and haven't stopped using it. Because it is so light, I am concerned that it will break. Each time I make ice tea, I wash it by hand. It's a lovely and refined look. So far, the purchase has been a great success. It is, in my opinion, well worth the money. I looked for a nice pitcher that was not too expensive for weeks. I was able to locate it. br>br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. I'm going to give it a one-star rating right now. For the past 15 months, I've been using this pitcher on a daily basis. Because it is such a delicate glass, I have handled it with care. Well. I just noticed that the handle is now cracked all the way around. Trust what customers have to say. My four-star rating was reduced to one. This is something I will never buy again. DO NOT BUY unless you don't care about it lasting a long time. I'm buying another heavier looking glass pitcher, just not as pretty for a cheaper price. I don't use this for hot liquids. I used it to make iced tea, but I let the boiling water cool to slightly warm before pouring it into room temperature water and adding some cooler filtered water. The cracks have no reason to exist. If I hadn't noticed it, it could've been very dangerous.

Be Wary of the Buyer Dangerous to the point of death
3/5

The entire bottom part of the glass just fell off while I was drinking from it last week! It came dangerously close to hitting my 2-year-old daughter, who was standing right next to me. br>I'm not sure how this product is allowed to be sold in the United States. It has a very dangerous flaw that can result in serious injuries. br>Without ever being chipped or broken before, the glass simply split into two parts. br>br>I'm not sure if this defect has been discovered and corrected since I got these glasses about a year ago, but I would strongly advise against purchasing them and caution anyone who uses them.
