Although I have not used boiling or hot liquids in the vessel, the glass is not double-walled and may be hot to the touch. The term "heat resistance" refers to a glass's ability to resist cracking in extreme heat or cold. Best of luck!

It's fantastic! I brew hot tea in this carafe almost every day, then put it in the fridge overnight to drink cold tea the next day. It astounds me that you can pour boiling hot water straight into this and it will not break. I've been doing this for the past six months, until the pitcher mysteriously broke apart while I was carrying it a few days ago. While this was unfortunate, I contacted Artcome, and they offered to replace it for free under their two-year guarantee. They promptly responded to my message, and I received my brand new replacement pitcher within a few days. I think this is a fantastic product, and if anything goes wrong with yours, the customer service is fantastic.
These are fantastic and can handle hot or cold liquids without issue. The glass cracked as a result of the hot water, according to some comments. These are heat and cold tolerant, but not resistant to thermal shock. For non- This means that you can't put a hot liquid in a cold container if you're a chemistry major. The glass will crack or break if the temperature is changed too quickly. So don't take it out of the fridge and try to fill it with boiling water.
They look fantastic and are the ideal size for sangria and mixed drinks! Anybody up for a lychee martini?.
I was hesitant to use it for the purpose I had in mind: Make a cup of sugary tea. I held my breath as I poured boiling water into this fragile glass vessel, fearful of it shattering. However, this was not the case. I used it to make sweet tea several times before using it to infuse flavored waters and finally storing it in my bathroom so I could drink filtered water first thing in the morning. It'll be back in the kitchen in the summer, making me more sweet tea, and I'm thinking about getting another for my bathroom. br>br>I read that some people were affected by the shatter. I temper the glass by filling it with boiling water and swirling it until it is fully heated. Following that, I fill with zeal. This tip came from a magazine that said you should "temper" teapots by swirling boiling water around inside them first, and it works for me. br>br>I've accidentally bumped it a few times, but it hasn't broken. However, I consider this vessel to be delicate, and I treat it in the same way that I treat my grandmother's crystal: with great care and delicacy Having possessions necessitates their upkeep, which can necessitate special treatment for potentially volatile items. br>br>It doesn't say on the box, but this is dishwasher safe. The lid is attached to the top wrack and does not come apart; however, it must be fipped correctly to avoid water trapping.
However, the lid should be avoided at all costs. I was going to give this five stars, but the way the lid closes and catches liquid on the top is the only thing keeping me from doing so. It seals well to keep the liquid fresh, but when pouring out, any liquid in the rim backs up and collects on the lid as the lid closes. I used a towel to wipe it away. If you don't, the top will become sticky and moldy. If it comes into contact with the clean liquid from the jug while being poured out, it could contaminate the rest of the liquid. Aside from that, it's easy to clean, you can pour warm liquid in it, it doesn't take up much space (it's about the same size as a regular milk carton), and the lid seals to keep the continents fresh.
I assumed they had dinged it somewhere after reading all the reviews of it breaking; however, after reading all the reviews of it breaking, I assumed they had dinged it somewhere. We'll just be extra cautious and it should be fine; we kept it filled and in the fridge for about a week with no issues. The bottom suddenly broke out one day while it was being held by the neck. Beware!.
UPDATE: I gave this carafe five stars because I liked it at first, but after a few days of use, it spontaneously broke while I was putting it in the dishwasher. I didn't drop it or hit it in any way, and the temperature didn't change; it simply broke. I wish it were made of thicker glass; it would be the ideal product; however, I cannot recommend a product that breaks so easily and for no apparent reason. It was a waste of money. ORIGINAL REVIEWbr>It has a very stylish appearance and can hold a good amount of liquid. I like how the lid opens when you tilt the bottle, making pouring a breeze. If it doesn't break like other customers have reported, I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for.
My previous review needs to be updated. They do appear to be lovely. I purchased two of them and am very pleased with them. I filled them with filtered water today and left them in the fridge, as I always do. When I returned a few hours later, one of them had burst a leak near the bottom, flooding my refrigerator. I usually leave a little space between the water line's top and the rubber water stopper's bottom. However, I believe I overfilled it today, and it shattered the bottom of the glass and flooded when it cooled in the fridge. Thankfully, it's only water, not wine or something else that would have been more difficult to clean up. I'm disappointed that I've only had it for a little over two months and one of them is already broken. If you do buy them, don't fill them all the way to the top, or you might end up with this problem.
