Unless otherwise specified, you will need a #5 stopper. The one that came with the Northern Brewer lil big mouth bubbler will fit In addition, if you want to use an auto siphon, it won't fit easily in the neck, so you will just need a piece of hose for the job.

I had lopsided bottles that hold a lot of liquid, but my bottles were sturdy. An edge of the mouth tilts towards one side of the bottle.

Mead is not good for it

Great jug for making mead. I love how solid it is, and the size is just what I needed. Although the auto siphon will fit in the neck, it will not stay there, even though the #5 bung will "fit". The product is totally useless for making mead, but other liquids can be diluted with it.
