My beard oil has been stored in these for years, and I travel almost every day. And yet, I slip them into my duffle bag with clothes 35 times a year, and the bags don't leak or stain. Likewise, each time I've checked a bag with an airline, there has not been a leak. My opinion is that the lids are holding up well after 700 openings.
Since I have had them for just over 2 years now, I've been able to carry salad dressing and make my own moisturizer, and I use them frequently. In spite of their good performance, the lids have tarnished and are quite rusted after about a year. The fact that they came out black was a surprise to me. I wash them like I do my other dishes.
They will be used to make marijuana salve when I make it. I am pleased with how well these jars work Since they're made of glass, they keep the harmful chemicals out. Plastic bottles tend to leach out chemical compounds that are bad for your health. For my small batch operation, it is just the right size. When traveling with the jars of salve, it is also important that the caps seal well.
It was I who got them to store flower seeds in the fridge during the winter. Small to medium seeds are perfectly sized for this seed packet. Also, I plan on giving them to my guests on their return trip as a kind of 'token of good luck'. Pebbles or shells are Buckeye seeds, but small crystals are also present. I see that the screw on lids at least seem sturdy and will provide adequate protection to cover the jar for my intended use. Taking the time to wash and dry their hands would be even more beneficial to their longevity. It's one of the things I love most about.
To use my airbrush, I used these jars to pour rattle can paint into them. In the photo you can see how the decant was successful, but what happened when we put a lid on the jar to keep it fresh and opened it the next day. Despite the gasket being completely useless and the paint being dry in the bottle, the paint is still It dried after I decanted the paint, so nothing could be done with that. If the jar can be salvaged, I can probably make another gasket for it. The fact that I assumed wrongly that they would be the same as their larger counterparts is my fault. It is a nice jar and probably would work well with some products but would not work well with rattle can enamel As one learns, one becomes more knowledgeable. These took a great deal of time to use and it will take even more time to clean and 'repair' them to reach their intended purpose.
It is great for paint pots, due to the way that the top part of the lid seals A ring of silicone or rubber is on the outside of my paints that prevents them from drying out. The fact that they are the cutest little jars helps a bit too. Many craft items can be made with glass and lid of good quality.
I used the lids a few times before they rusted out.
In terms of my jewelry box, I wanted something that was neither too big nor bulky. It matched my rustic farmhouse decor just right, and they were just perfect. This is a great storage solution as well as a great gift giving option. If you put candy or small trinkets in them for gifts, they would be super cute with a pretty little ribbon. The makers of these are to be commended for making such a great product! An A+++.
