It can hold 8 oz to the glass's lip, but I wouldn't pour an 8 oz cocktail into it.

Is there a staining issue with the martini glasses like there is with the shot glasses?

They are beautiful and appear to be very sturdy. I even threw them in the dishwasher, a little nervously, but they came out perfectly fine, and I got an email from the company today asking if I liked them and double-checking that nothing was broken or damaged.
