Questions & Answers
Yes, absolutely! They are long, strong, and capable of carrying out any task that a pair of hands can.
They were, I believe, labeled "Made in India." They're of good quality, and they're not rusted like some other Chinese tongs I've seen.
There is no locking mechanism on the tongs.
There's no rubber here; it's all steel.

These tongs are made of a metal that isn't stainless steel or any other kind of steel. These tongs do not stick to a magnet, which sticks to steel. It's no surprise that they're from India. It's not worth returning; it's just as well to throw it out. Stainless steel was needed for my project. This set of tongs was advertised as stainless steel. If I had known they weren't stainless, I would not have ordered them. To put it bluntly, it was falsely advertised.
The 9" tongs are what I prefer. I believe the size is more manageable, but I am small and have small hands. These are a little tricky to put together, but I'm hoping that with use, they'll loosen up. They're not heavy. weight, as well; I find that some of the more elaborate ones are too heavy for me to handle. I only gave it four out of five stars for "durability," but that's only because it's too early to tell - They were just delivered to me today. I bought them because they appeared to be simple and light, and that is exactly what I got. I didn't buy them because of the low price, but wow, what a deal! Thank you, Amazon!.
Your tongs, baby. tong- tong- tongs! These tongs are exactly the same as the ones I've used in restaurants throughout my career. They're tough, and they'll probably last until the end of the world. I feel like I have a lot of control over whatever I'm working with because of their short length. When my short girlfriend is too lazy to get the step stool, she uses them to pull items down from high shelves. There is no loop or clasp to keep them closed when not in use, which is a minor flaw. To me, it doesn't matter, and the price is unbeatable.
Opening is 4 inches wide. I'm a culinary instructor, so I'm picky about my tools. To begin with, this style of tongs, with the clam shell grip, is the type you'll find in restaurant kitchens because it works! However, not all of them are alike. I'm a small woman with small hands, so anything with a wider opening spread than 4 1/2"" strains my hands and causes them to pop out. Some of them open up as much as 7 1/2", which is excessive. These have a 3 1/2" oping. These are also extremely well-researched. I strongly advise you to purchase them. My kitchen has a total of six!.
Salads, corn on the cob, pork spare ribs, and other dishes benefit greatly from these. The tongs are well-balanced and secure. The length of nine inches is ideal.
This is fantastic. If I'm being honest, the finish is a little lacking, but that's nitpicking; these are fantastic heavyweight stainless steel. They're comfortable to hold and are ideal for grilling large cuts of meat while remaining agile enough to handle delicate shrimp. I'm very pleased. I intend to purchase a few more.
Because the opening is so small, the size of what you can pick up with tongs is severely limited. The tongs are already showing signs of wear after just two weeks of use. The spring fails to return the tongs to their original position, narrowing the opening even further! Manually pulling the tongs back out to their widest width is inconvenient.
The perfect size for a spring. br>To all the elderly cooks who can't find the perfect tongs in the storebr>I've been looking for a replacement for my 95-year-old mother's tongs for 20 years and this is it.
