I had one since the 1970s, yes, the 1970s, and it moved with me about 8 or 9 times, getting washed a zillion times in the dishwasher. Still, it appeared to be excellent. After that, there was this. When I moved into my new apartment, I couldn't find it. It broke my heart; I was devastated. So there you have it. I went to all of the places you'd expect to find butter spreaders and came up empty-handed. When you can't find a butter spreader at Target or Bed Bath and Beyond, you know you've got a problem. Thank goodness for Amazon, who answered my prayers for a butter spreader. They're fantastic.
It's funny how some people have found something negative to say about these knife/spreaders. I like mine because it's firm enough to cut through hard butter and cheese while still allowing me to spread peanut butter on soft bread and cream cheese on a bagel. I'm guessing I could easily frost a cake with this, but then again, I'd have to be a baker to put that theory to the test:.
For cutting, it has a sharp serrated edge that is large enough to accommodate any spreads. With these butter spreaders, I was both impressed and surprised. Before they arrived, I was concerned that they would be of "lower" quality, but they appear to be quite sturdy, and I particularly like the serrated, and quite sharp, edge on one side of each for cutting convenience. I was also relieved to discover that the size was slightly larger than I had anticipated. Because of their size and sharp edge, these are more akin to sandwich knives than butter spreaders. a good multi-tasker A must-have for any kitchen.
"For what they are, these are fantastic - Knives for making sandwiches and spreading spreads at a low cost. They can only be washed by hand. It's time for me to re-evaluate my situation. My handles have become dry and rough as a result of being accidentally run through the dishwasher. They are, however, excellent for their intended purpose, and are frequently used for cutting and covering bagels, making sandwiches, buttering toast, and other similar tasks. They come highly recommended from me.
Because my mother owned one, I purchased one for myself when I married in 1966. The most effective tool for spreading information. Because the blade is rigid, scooping out peanut or almond butter from a jar is simple. It has a semi-circular shape to it. If you want, you can add hard cheese as well. Two more were purchased, one for our RV and the other as a gift for my daughter. I was overjoyed to discover that this tool was still available for purchase. Amazon is the way to go!.
On both knives, the knife blade has dislodged itself from its wooden handle. As a result, I'm not optimistic about their long-term viability. I was let down.
A chrome one was available at one grocery store, but it cost $7. 00, which I thought was completely absurd. So it's Amazon's turn to save the day once more. This was exactly what I had been looking for. They're tough, easy to clean, and get the job done. excellent for buttering and jamming.
The cost of two knives is unbeatable. They carry out their responsibilities in a professional manner. The rivers, on the other hand, are beginning to ratchet up the blade. They're excellent butter knives for everyday use. br>br> This isn't a party.
