Stainless steel is the material used. Just so you know, it's a lot bigger than it looks in the picture.
There isn't a mark on them that I can find! Unfortunately, because of the cost, they are likely to be longer and stiffer than others.

It's quite effective. We have a $750 Cutco knife set with a single spreader that would be a better deal at this price. It's a nice-looking utensil that gets the job done, but it spends a lot of time in the dishwasher. As a result, we're frequently forced to spread with a regular knife, which is inefficient. Have you ever tried spreading tuna fish sandwiches with a knife? It can be done, but a spreader is faster and more efficient due to its wider blade. br>br>At first, I was looking for a second spreader and looked into the more expensive spreaders. They're attractive, but they're pricey; I was more concerned with utility and durability than with appearances. These caught my eye, and I decided to purchase them. They were ideal for my requirements. They're simple and functional, but they're of good quality and will last a long time. br>br>I only gave them two stars for giftability because they are so plain that they might not qualify as a special gift, but that depends on the recipient's values; for my purposes, they work well and were a good deal at this price.
I can't tell the difference between these and the one I already have, which cost eight times as much. This is by far the best: it works well, cleans up easily (one of the others has permanent nicks on the side of the blade), and looks nice. It's also very long-lasting. DO NOT USE IN DISHWASHER After a few uses, the metal blade began to pit. IT WAS NOT IN THE DISHWASHER. It appears to be a low-quality blade. Sending it back would be too much trouble. The handle appears to be in good condition.
