There is no doubt in my mind that these are wood items. There are photos I have posted where you can see the grain and imperfections of the wood at close range, particularly around the tops where a smooth round carving is being attempted. You should look closely at those photos if you care, of course. The finish of a plastic construction would be smoother and cleaner. These are likely some type of wood with some kind of coating on them. Consequently, I consider them to be a type of coated wood material from my perspective. This should be of some assistance.
The tips of these animals are square and very effective at grabbing food.
There is a nice bag included with them.
The resin is extracted from natural sources. They are essential for me to use I think they still look great.

This is a great deal, if you ask me. The adhesive used on the labels holding the pairs together has been a source of complaints. When you warm chopsticks with a blow dryer and remove the labels slowly, the labels will easily come off without leaving adhesive residue. You can retrieve the label from the wood using the sticky side of the label if the adhesive is still on it. You'll enjoy it!.

This is a wonderful set of chopsticks - beautifully made and well made. There is something pretty about the turned wood design and the length of the piece.
