What a colossal letdown. When my wife and I returned from your honeymoon, we used our wedding gift money to purchase eight of these. Why not divide the four into two groups of four? Because eight individual place settings were less expensive to purchase. br>br>All were in good condition when they arrived, with the exception of one set that had a broken cup. It's not a big deal, so don't worry about it. br>br>So we unpacked everything and placed it on our granite counter-top kitchen island. Seven of the eight dinner plates, as well as all eight bread and butter plates, were not flat on the bottom and rocked. Some just a tad, others a tad too much. br>br>I reached into our cupboard and removed plates from my Mikasa stoneware set, which was 20 years old. Al sat perfectly still on the granite slab. "Denby quality?" you might be thinking. "br>br>I'm not sure if Amazon is selling secondhand Denby stoneware or if this is just the way Denby makes their stoneware. And, even if they are handcrafted, I refuse to accept such poor quality. Making sure the bottoms are flat would be a simple step. But at Denby prices, this is simply unacceptable, in my opinion. So they return to their previous position. br>br>Amazon take note- You're paying a lot of money for this transaction, which could have been avoided if the set of four place settings had been priced the same as or less than four single place settings.
The dishware does not look as nice as it does in the picture. The pattern is sloppy and the color is duller. They appear to be minutes. Denby is a brand that I own a lot of. It's a letdown.
So far, I've bought two and am working my way up to a four-piece set. Denby mugs are pricey, but they're well-made and will last a lifetime. br>br>I am very pleased with my purchase because I like the colors and style of the mug. When I took the mugs out of the box, they were well-packaged and undamaged. br>br>They go great with the handmade coasters I sell on Etsy under the name CosmicCheetah.
I bought four of these to match the dish sets. They're also ideal for ice cream, soup, or cereal! My purchase has made me extremely happy. br>br>Editor's note: October 2015 - I deducted two stars from the rating for these bowls because I believe their durability does not match that of the other products in this line; I own the dinner plates and regular bowls, and they have held up admirably. The rice bowls, on the other hand, do not last as long. One of them broke in such a minor incident that I was taken aback when it did. After being stacked beneath one of the other rice bowls, another has chipped. I still like the bowls; their appearance and size are ideal, but durability appears to be an issue.
Denby is a fantastic product, and I was delighted to discover it on Amazon. To be honest, they did an excellent job of packaging this shipment. The dishes are perfect, but I already had a set and was in need of more. I have no complaints and would recommend Denby products to anyone.
These bowls are both attractive and durable. For our wedding, we purchased Denby salad plates and regular plates, but we never considered bowls. After our toddler destroyed a few bowls over the course of twenty years, I decided to replace them with some nicer ones. Needless to say, he'll continue to eat from the remaining Corning bowls.
Denby's glazes are lovely. It's no different with the Azure Coast place setting. The mug handle is a little small, but you can see it in the photo. The plates are thick and sturdy. Scratching and staining are not an issue with these glazes. Denby ceramics are one of my favorite brands. On the edges of the plates, as well as the outsides of the bowl and mug, the Azure coast has a lovely teal pattern.
I haven't used them yet, but they are absolutely gorgeous! They are a little pricey per set, but I justified the cost because I loved them so much! I bought four of them.
