Is it salt or sugar? That's exactly what I needed! I have a set of margarita glasses with a wide rim that are perfect for this. I was using a saucer, which wasn't doing the job very well. There's a lot of depth to this. It's nice to have a set moat because I frequently make drinks for two people and don't want to overfill it. Instead, put a tablespoon of coarse salt or sugar in the rimmer, tilt it so the salt or sugar collects in one spot, and twirl your glass until it is evenly covered - voila! Sugar rims can be made with restaurant sugar packets. Colored sugar can be made in only 5 minutes, according to YouTube. It's simple to do and adds a special touch to your drinks. In my bar, I have spice jars of various colors. Raw sugar is something else I use. This rimmer is ideal for all types of salt and sugar. br>br>For best results, cut a small slice from a lime or lemon, place it over the rim, and twirl the glass until it is evenly moistened before sprinkling salt or sugar on top. A sponge-like substance is something I would avoid. It's not necessary for this type of application, and who doesn't like a hint of citrus? br>br>I didn't want a cheap, unattractive plastic rimmer at all. This item is made of acacia wood that has been beautifully finished. The logo is stamped into the wood and is perfectly smooth and rich in color. It's a good product. made, and something that would enhance the aesthetics and functionality of a bar As of this writing, the best price is also available. Drink recipes are included in the packaging, which is very nice. It'd be a lovely present for that difficult-to-shop-for person! Two thumbs up! br>br>.
We bought this because our margarita glasses are "wide," and it was difficult to apply salt or Tajin spice to the rim without something like this. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase. It's attractive, and it fits our wide-rimmed glasses perfectly. However, it is in desperate need of a lid. We're just using Press n Seal for now, and it's working fine. The Press n Seal, on the other hand, makes it look cheap and defeats the purpose of using nice wood. But, because it doesn't come with a real lid, you'll have to make do.
This salt rimmer is far better than I had anticipated. The wood is beautiful, and it appears to be a high-quality product; I've only used it once, but it's simple to use and matches my large rimmed margarita glasses perfectly. I've had several compliments on how lovely it looks, so I'll definitely be ordering another as a gift. This would be an excellent hostess gift, and it comes in a nice box.
Fantastic product with a beautiful wood stain that looks incredible. Any margarita class should be able to use it. Will purchase more to give as gifts during the holidays.
Decoratively carved wooden utensil for almost anything that requires a top lid or glass coating of various salts, sugars, and other baking solids. Also works well in Margaritas. Extremely long lasting. I washed it and it came out looking brand new. Wood is elegant, and others will be curious as to where you got it. I accidentally ordered two and have already found a (gift) home for the other after being asked how I got it? It would look great in a bar or a kitchen.
This is something I use on a daily basis in my bar. We serve a lot of margaritas at the bar where I work. This looked a lot better on the bar than those flimsy plastic folding ones, and it went with the theme of my restaurant. If you had two or three with different rims lined up for mise en place, I could see this being very sexy. This is a situation where less is more. I like it because the staff is less likely to overfill the rimer with salt, resulting in clumpy salt and juice remaining in the rimer. This is cleaned each night in a good way. We simply rinsed it and wiped it dry overnight in our three bay. I've only had it for a few weeks, but I expect it to last a long time. The only flaw I see is that, like anything made of wood, it will warp and swell if exposed to water. But for me, this isn't a problem.
It's difficult to find a salt rimmer that fits my margarita glasses, which are larger than any other I've seen (including store-bought margarita salt containers). Rather than causing a shambles, this rimmer performs admirably. It's also appealing and well-made, so I enjoy having it out when I have visitors. It was exactly what I was looking for.
For my large, wide margarita glasses, the size was ideal. I didn't care for the wood. I wasn't sure how well it would stand up to the salt and liquid from limes and drink rims. I didn't care for the wood in general. I mistakenly believed I was purchasing terra cotta, which I believe would be more appropriate for a Mexican-themed event.
