I fill it up and keep it in our shed so I don't have to keep returning to the kitchen for more ice for my drinks. However, it's also appropriate for use at parties and other social gatherings. It can hold just enough ice for a few people (not a party of ten or more), or it can be used next to wine bottles for those who prefer their wine chilled. It has a nice look and has nice features, especially if your kitchen has a lot of stainless steel appliances. I love that the ice grabber can be hung on either side (I just wish the guests could figure it out, haha!). )br>br>I review hundreds of products on Amazon and rely heavily on other people's reviews when making purchases. This was a full-price purchase, but it was well worth it! I only give a product five stars if I would pay full price for it or give it as a gift. I give 1 star (because you can't give 0) to items that are so bad that I throw them away, return them for a refund, or wouldn't want them even if they were free. It kept ice well, much better than those hotel/motel ones, but I returned it because I assumed it would be airtight, which it isn't.
We don't use a lot of ice, but having some on hand for visitors without having to go into and out of the freezer was convenient. We still had cubes the next morning, so about 18 hours after the bucket was filled. With only a plastic lid, I wasn't sure how well it would hold up, but it was a pleasant surprise. The tongs' ability to hook onto the side kept them out of the way, and the garnish tray was useful for our limited space.
First and foremost, I am to blame for failing to read the measurements. I expected it to be much larger based on the photos. This would be perfect for my cocktail station at a 40th birthday backyard party that I was throwing. Even though I'm small, it turns out that I'm not so small after all. It all came together nicely. This thing kept ice for several hours, despite the fact that it doesn't hold a lot. br>I'm sure I'll put this to good use for the remainder of the summer.
If you only require ice for 4 to 6 people, this ice bucket will suffice. It's not nearly as big as it appears in the photo. When I first opened the box, I was taken aback. It was my fault for failing to double-check the measurements.
A boat's ice was purchased. The boat has an ice maker, and the ice is cold when we put it in this cooler; however, the ice melts quickly in the sun unless the top of the cooler is covered with additional insulation. The cooler is cute, and it comes with a lime tray and tongs, but the ice deteriorates quickly in the sun due to the flaw of the thin uninsulated flip up THIN plastic lid. Seriously, what was the point of insulating three sides and leaving the most important side exposed to the sun or warmth, as well as making the MM's thick? To cover up some of the flaw, we had to add a layer of dark insulation. I bought the Coleman mini cooler to replace it because I would not recommend this cooler unless you want it to sit on your bar at home and expect ice to last a limited amount of time. (Which has a white insulated lid!.
I needed a new ice bucket, and this one fits the bill perfectly. Tongs are stored with a convenient handle on the side. Tongs fit inside for easy storage, and cleaning is simple.
This is what I use in a beverage station. I put it in the ice maker in my refrigerator. The ice in the bucket begins to melt after a few hours, forming a glob. It's not easy to chip away at the semi-finished product. melted ice into usable chunks that fit into old-fashioned glasses with wide rims Old-fashioned glasses (narrower juice glasses may be even more problematic). As a result, I wish it were more adequately insulated. It has a comfortable handle and a tong for putting ice in glasses. It's just the right size to keep ice for six people. 8 drinks. I like how the tong is attached to the bucket's outside. Cleaning is a breeze. After several cleanings, the plastic has held up well and does not appear scratched.
