Because the taste will be lost, this is only to be used in an emergency. Pass it around and you're done.
I just bought six of them, and the cap is plastic. I wanted to powder coat them, but I don't think the cap will withstand the heat.
Engraving is something I do.

I poured them into glasses tonight and discovered that they were contaminated with an oily black substance! br>br>In my photos, you can see a fresh pour on the left and a nasty, black pour coming out of the flask on the right. All of them were thrown away. br>br> br>br>Their cap latch is also flimsy and frequently gets caught. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. This is low-cost scum. Drinking from them is not a good idea.
Purchases should be avoided. BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS A MISTAKE! The (not so) stainless steel corrodes any liquid inside, turning it black and green! This is a chromium leaching symptom - Is it true that you want to drink chrome?.
They're being returned to me. That is not something that should occur.
This is something you should not buy. I followed the cleaning instructions to the letter, but the alcohol remained green, blue, dark, and frightening. I then followed up with a night of straight vodka in the hopes of dissolving any remaining "manufacturing residue. " " Sorry, but that didn't work out. Your booze will be tainted if you leave it in these for more than a day. This should never be done with high-quality stainless steel. I haven't gone blind yet, but these low-cost flasks aren't going to help. br>br>Do not make a purchase. Danger. Danger. Danger.
These flasks are a joke; they're extremely thin and cheaply made, and they give my drink a horrible metallic taste. I bought them to give as gifts, but I'm not sure I'm happy I did; I should have just thrown them all away, not just the one I was using.
Extra fuel for an alcohol-burning backup stove can be carried in this pouch. With the stove I use, these flasks hold enough fuel for at least three fillups, and the flask is well built and not so heavy that you'll forget it's in your pack. They offer excellent value for money.
So the plastic lid is the only thing I don't like about it. br>I'm going to use these as bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts, so I'm going to personalize them. The hinge pin had to be knocked out with a hammer and sewing pin because the lid was plastic. br>I debated whether or not to return them, but ultimately chose to keep them.
