It hasn't fallen over yet, but I've had this kitchen set for about a month. A balanced approach seems to be in place.

Could you please tell me if these knives can be put in a dishwasher?

If you would like you could, although I do not recommend washing mine in the dishwasher since knives are easily cleaned. To maintain your kitchen knives in the best possible condition, seller suggests hand washing and thoroughly drying each one before storing.

How often does the kitchen knife need to be sharpened?

This is not necessary at all, they are very sharp and make excellent cuts. The knife block set makes buying knives so much easier, as it eliminates the need to buy other knives.
