Can you tell me what goes on with the color of the blade edge when they Since the stainless steel is visible through and the color is gone, I assume the steel is exposed. ?

I have sharpened mine quite a few times, and the colors are still intact, but I use a small kitchen IQ sharpener which I also purchased from Amazon. My assumption is that this was done so the knife could be sharpened easily with the steel visible at the edge.

During the first few months of use, the paint becomes dull
3/5

Be prepared for knives to last only a short time. Reviewing products is not something that I do often, and when I do, I either complain about a terrible product or praise one that I love! Sadly, this product turns out to be a terrible one. After using it for 3 months, the color turns To make it last as long as possible, I put a lot of effort into A machine wash was never performed on it. The only thing I did was wash it by hand and dry it with a Having read all the reviews all raving about this knife, I am extremely disappointed to find that it is not that much better than a Dollar Tree knife. My experience is that most Amazon reviews come from people that give it a review the day they get it. They never go back after using the product for months to write another review. Keep away from it if you can!.

It is long way to say "Garbage" when the paint is flaky and the handles are broken
3/5

It is a joy to have a quality set of knives that cut well when I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It is very easy to cut with these knives. A blade can hold its edge for about a month after being used multiple times every day. To sharpen knives whose straight edges I want to keep, I use this stone. Having had these knives for five months, I can tell you they're great. In the third month after I bought it, I began to notice the paint pealing off the most frequently used knives. The paint flecks I find on freshly cut potatoes and other foods seem to be coming from the oven. As a product of a brand like Cuisinart, you might expect these knives to be electrolyzed to have the color they do. Due to this reason, I gave the knives a two-star rating. This knife set is still worth $20 if I could get it for somewhere around that price. As soon as I have some 400-grit wet dry sandpaper, I will apply the paint to the surface. In June 2019, I purchased these knives. I have owned them since October 2020. In order to restore the painted edge of my most commonly used knives, I sanded them with 400 grit wet sandpaper. You need dry sandpaper for this job. Even though the knives are still mostly white, they have some color on them, which gives them a metal and paint hue. However, I have not seen any flaking paint since I sanded. I am satisfied in this regard.

I do notice the knives have a bit of thickness to the blades of the knives. Because the cutting edge is thinner than the rest of the knives, hard fruits and vegetables tend to move away from the edge before they are completely Since they are still relatively new, the last little bit seems to be breaking away, causing the knife blade to strike the cutting board. It annoys me a little, but they are still pretty good knives considering what they cost. ** Update** I ordered these knives on June 21, 2019. I believe I'll receive them on December 13, 2020. Five minutes ago, I was stirring a jar of peanut butter when I noticed that the handle was separated from the knife and that it had broken at the metal end. As you can see in the photo, I have replaced the broken metal with new metal. If a name like Cuisinart is associated with quality, you would think that it would be. I just jumped into the marketing of the name without the benefit of knowing what it really means. The next time I had to make the same decision, I would stick to a knife I was not familiar with.

You can find them if you want
5/5

My life could not be more perfect. As you can see, I'm just an average dude who cooks tacos, burgers, etc. There's no doubt about it, these knives are sharp! To me, the color seemed a little too cheesy, however, they cut with great precision and my finger can attest to It was like having my white meat cut off by these knives. Although it might seem impossible to filet a puffer fish, I could easily do it.

Knives you can buy for less than Williamsburg is on my list of places I would like to visit Spend $1,000 at Sonoma on a great set of knives you will have for life
5/5

I am a graduate student, so I cannot take advantage of this since my stipend is limited. Having said that, these are extremely good knives for the price. You should buy them right away if you don't have any. Their smoothness and ease of use make them a cut above the rest. It is mainly chef, Japanese, and paring knives that I use. I enjoy them both. When steak knives are available for this price, we see no reason to use them. Using them has greatly enhanced the enjoyment of cooking. It is convenient to have the guards because they don't arrive in blocks and no one wants to get cut sticking his or her hand.

I have had no reason to replace any of these knives- they are all in wonderful condition today The wear and tear I put them through on a daily basis
5/5

It has been about nine months since I bought these knives. Since I waited to write a review until I had tested them out frequently and cleaned them, I wanted to see how well they held up to repeated use. The colored coating started to chip off earlier than I expected but I was most pleasantly surprised by the outcome. I have had no reason to replace any of these knives- they are all in wonderful condition today The wear and tear I put them through on a daily basis. Both by hand and in the dishwasher, I washed them, and they don't seem to have deteriorated. It is my pleasure to recommend without reservation.

It is one of the worst knives I have ever owned and potentially dangerous due to the high likelihood of breaking with normal use
3/5

The dragon looks pretty cool, but it's actually quite A loaf of French bread was sliced with a blade that broke off just after cutting the edge I was lucky to have seen the edge of the slice had fallen in, because the piece was still in the It makes me shudder to think what would have happened to the inside of my mouth, throat, or stomsch if I had swallowed those tablets. You may want to consider reporting to the U. S. I would suggest a recall and an investigation to the Consumer Products Safety Commission. The knives are made of cheap materials and are of no use. Those are a waste of money and a potential hazard to health and possibly life. I am not sure how to dispose of them other than having the edges ground off, which I would have to pay for.

The handles are plastic, the blades are thick, and these combine to make Generally, these knives are ok, but there are a couple of things that could be improved Although the handles are plastic, they don't grip as well as the rubber/silicone handles found on some other knife sets
3/5

Also, the blades are too thick for some tasks. Here is a picture of me cutting a raw carrot with a thin knife (top) and it was a neat I used one of these Cuisinart knives (bottom), my carrot snapped before the blade snapped all the way through. This is because the thickness of the blade split the carrot nearly half way through.

The knife is great, but the packaging is dangerous
3/5

Fortunately, I managed to slice my finger open without any problems. In other words, the knives are marvelous, but the packaging is awful. After slicing my finger open when taking the knives out of the box, I just came back from the emergency room where I got stitches. Although 5 of the knives came with plastic covers on their blades, this was good and safe, the knife in the packaging display window was laying on top of the cover. As a result, I accidentally sliced my finger closest to the bone, resulting in a visit to the hospital. The sharpest knives are my favorite, and I am even more interested in packaging that's safe. I urge you to be cautious.
