Questions & Answers

Whether or not this chopper can be used to chop beef bones and ?

Chopping through heavy bones with this wouldn't be a good use of it. Chinese knives are usually used for vegetables and chicken at most. You need a traditional German or American butcher's cleaver for meats such as beef, pork etc. Dexter makes a heavy duty cleaver which can chop heavier bones.

The cleaver you sent me is made in the USA, isn't it? Where are they located if not here?

Almost all imports are required to be marked with the country of origin. There was a law in 1950. This is the case in the

Can you tell me how much this cleaver weighs?

On my kitchen scale, I weighed it It weighs about five In my opinion, I would have been able to guess twice that amount. Whenever I make chicken stock, I use the machine to break up the carcasses. Twenty per week on average. That job calls for a lot of weight. Let me know if you have any questions.

Where can I find instructions on sharpening?

Sharpen the knife the same way you would if it were a regular knife. You can use a file or a stone to do it. The belt sander I use is a universal sharpener, but either would be useful

The price was cheap and the product was cheap

I used it five times to remove the necks of whole chickens, turkeys and pork. The result-the first revert popped out, the blade dented, and parts of it were actually chipped away.

This is garbage
3/5

I've actually thrown away a lot of trash there. As part of my annual deer hunts, I purchase this product to assist with the deboning and chopping of the meat. It seems the blade has dents an eighth of an inch to a quarter inch deep on its first use. Blades have been my everyday tool for decades, so I know what a blade should be capable of. There is no evidence that it was ever tempered. Make sure you read the fine print!.

It is a very good cleaver to use daily, not too heavy duty
5/5

The meat cleaver is one of my favorites as part of my cooking process, and this is a good choice for simple and light work. While I'm confident that it will work for most things, I wouldn't test it too hard because I think it will My purchase was in June, and I have been using this cleaver daily to chop meats and vegetables. It hasn't worn out at all since then. My wife and I did spend a considerable amount of time hacking through chicken drumsticks one night, and found the process quite challenging. There were multiple strikes to get through the bones, and I was careful not to damage Blade turned out fine, but this is why I urge caution when using the product in heavy-duty situations (despite the product being labeled a "heavy-duty I think this cleaver is excellent for the price. Easy to grip and heavy, the handle gives a solid impression. Although the blade is heavy and has had no rust over the past few months, it does seem heavy. A wide variety of large fruits can be cut with ease, including watermelons and pineapples. As to cracking coconuts or the like with the cleaver, I have not tried it, and especially advise As long as you don't abuse it too much, I would say this is fairly high quality, and I am satisfied.

It is a good blade
4/5

The handle is made of wood. All in all, this is a good kitchen cleaver. Therefore, I cannot say for sure that this is realistic. I haven't chopped bones, wacked zombies, or run anything over with a car. It gets the job done for light to medium kitchen use. I find it to have a nice large blade, holds an edge well compared to most knives, and will break a log of frozen ground meat (after scoring it) when being whack by the It was only the finish and quality of the wooden handle that I was unhappy with. I found it rough and it had a poor coat (or no coat It is possible that my wife had thrown it in the dishwasher as well, which did not My expectations are that it will be much better after I sand it and seal it with oil. As far as I can tell, the rivets are fine. My experience with the blade has been positive, and it would be my first purchase should the opportunity arise.

The only thing you should use it for is chicken. This first leg of mutton is broken after just one use.

This is a great value for the A great value for the It is not necessary to purchase a $50 cleaver if you are cooking at home in small quantities

Since I watched Covid last year, I've been creating homemade Chinese food at home After closing all the restaurants on Jan. 19, the hotel is empty. There is a stainless steel version of this one, with full-length mounting An example of tang construction is shown below. Tang does not appear to be thin or flimsy at all, but rather takes up the entire profile of the wooden grip. One of the only flaws is that It would be useful if there was one A minor issue with the grips up front is that they are slightly loose. these cleavers are perfect the grips are on point and the balance is superb. Made in China, it would stand to reason that they understand how to make Chinese cleavers. The edge of the knife looked dull straight out of the packaging, but after a few minutes of work with a a "Smith's" sharpening stone, it was as good as new. So now that you've been gently guided- This curved edge has a perfect angle and is a pleasure to watch - You've found it.

The last cleaver you will need to own in this lifetime
5/5

This Chinese cleaver is extremely sharp. In spite of having several new expensive chef's knives, this is the sharpest by a long shot- The heft of it makes it feel powerful when you swing it, which I wasn't expecting. This is not a lightweight, it is a chopper, and that is what I want from My father got this knife for me, and I like it because it has a full tang that runs the entire length of the blade, and it has steel rivets holding it The handle is made of wood. A razor-sharp edge has been added to the knife edge I don't even have to guess! As I was washing the knife, I managed to cut myself. The tip of the blade just barely touched my finger. I was careful to stay away from the blade, but still stepped on it a little. This knife is NOT for beginners. A great butcher cleaver, at a great price. This hotel offers great value for.

I am glad you liked it

As a vegan, I eat only plant-based foods. It's easy to peel and cut through hard winter squashes with this Winco cleaver. The $10 Kiwi cleaver I use to cut through winter squash is also good! My favorite tools that I use are both the peeling spoon and the knife. One does a great job at peeling hard squash shells, and the knife cuts through butternut squash like hot butter. We were able to get this for a great price. Sharpening the Winco cleaver and my $10 Kiwi cleaver in my automatic knife sharpener changed the angle to a sharp 15° angle and now they both break winter squash with ease. It is accurate to say that I use both cleavers, since one peels better and one cuts through hard squashes easier. With my electric knife sharpener, I sharpen the Kiwi cleaver knife so that the angle is down to 15 degrees before using it. I think the main message to take away is that this $10 Winco cleaver worked great right out of the box and it kept working even better after I sharpened it. It is essential to have a sharp knife. As easy as slicing butter through butternut squash, they make cutting through squash a breeze. My method of breaking down squashes is to use two cleavers. Vegan girls want them as their have a $90 Japanese MAC vegetable cleaver that is by far the sharpest knife I have ever owned. I use it to prepare most of my vegetables, except for winter squashes that are too hard to handle.
