There is no way around it. It is impressive just how well made the piece is, as are the style points and the balance. If you clean this item well, it is easy to clean, just let it air dry after you have cleaned it well. My pantry door is magnetically attached to the magnetic strips that store mine. I think it's pretty cool, but I think it's somewhat evil. Although, I decided not to buy knives but to purchase a gambit of prep and sue knives. Geusts are left with the impression that I'm not the Chef to upset by them being in line. You must handle this knife carefully. To maintain its razor sharp edge, I use multiple coarse grains of wet stones in the manner my father taught me, as my grandfathers did as well. I use it to smash garlic cloves then chop them without any problems. With this tool you can cut through almost anything that seems otherwise impossible and it weighs just right Cutting anything does not require an extra amount of pressure I use it every day as it's not difficult to handle simply because it's heavy.
Initially, my first reaction was to be surprised by the weight of the object. Knives from the Global market are mostly lightweights, which is ideal for most use since you don't require weight to work, since the blades are razor sharp and they cut quickly.
