My opinion is that they are functional works of art. I was gifted this Dalstrong Obliterator cleaver from my grandfather, who is the most charismatic man I have ever met. This steel can be found in a wide range of budget There's no better steel than this one. It can take a beating and won't chip easily, yet it won't What a deal. I'm blown away by the price they were offering for this piece of steel. The fit and finish on the blade was flawless. I am amazed that a 3 pound, 9 inch blade can handle so much pressure. Therefore, if your shoulders are weak, you should use an exercise to strengthen them. There are dangers. A knife this heavy should be handled with care. The stand and sheath look amazing, and the package includes an amazing item. It's a pity the pros don't go any further. There have been two times I have ordered this cleaver and both times the blades were dull as butter knives. The cleaver is heavy and hard to handle, but has been made more difficult due to the dull blade. Unless I swing it like a tomahawk like a butternut squash or pumpkin, I cannot cut them. The weight of this blade causes tomatoes and soft vegetables to simply squish together. The thing can be used to smash garlic or break a lobster tail, but that feels like a way to give it a place instead of using it for its intended purpose.
Just unboxed and I'm surprised by how big it is. The format is heavy and easy to read. Pork ribs aren't a match for Venison ribs. There are several cleavers I own, but this one is by far the most well engineered. There was a lot of thought put into this and it is now a new go to when it comes to breaking down games. I am in love with Y'all, this thing is badass. My first task was to clean off the blade once This was a knife I pulled through a knife sharpener two or three times on coarse and two times on fine. Basically, I just deburred This thing was already pretty sharp when I picked it up. By slid my thumb and index finger over the blade and pinching it together, I was able to wipe away any metal residue. The skin from my thumb and forefinger came off and into my hand, appearing as a film. I didn't realize it was the skin from my finger. At first, I didn't feel any pain, and then I noticed The shipping is sharp on this thing. I would buy it again. Good buy. It has a wide angle bevel rather than a narrow angle similar to a chef's knife.
Because the first two Dalstrong products I've purchased have been so good, I bought this third product. You can tell from the title that this is a massive and heavy piece of equipment.
