No damage was done to mine. Since I have ADHD thinking outside of the box and solving crazy problems, I found this knife holder to be an unusual use. It was used to hang up my remote controls on the wall magnetically. Since my nightstand was getting congested, I wanted to clear up a bit of space and also prevent my cats from stepping on the remote controls (which they appear to deliberately aim at). In order for them to be able to be pulled on and off the wall easier than cup-like remote holders and still look fresh, we decided to use magnets to hold them. In order to mount my phone on a magnetic car mount, I bought some metal plates for mounting them on the back of cell phones. These are on the back of my remote controls. If needed, they could be shaped or cut with big scissors to make them fit. A magnetic knife holder was then installed on the It was very easy to do that. The screws on one side of the anchor are straight into the wall studs and the screws on the other are secured by anchors. This is a very secure device that does not feel like it will fall down, but it does wobble when you place remotes on or take Irritating to some degree, but no big deal. It's not the base plate that wobbles, it's the magnet part. It was important to me that this magnetic knife holder had a silicone covering, as well as black color. Though I would have preferred it to be a little longer, like 14 or 16 inches long but 10 inches is fine. Seller should consider Additionally, there may be other options with subtle colors as well, for example white and gray. My overall opinion of this product is that it is an excellent buy.
Two of these will go above a stove as knives hang there. Knives can be easily put on and taken off without damaging the blades because of the soft coating The alternative is to roll them slightly to remove the magnet from the metal. There is very little gap between the mounting bracket and the magnets, so.
Knife bars like this are one of the best around! There are two pieces to it With a black magnetic bar attached to the wall, and a flat metal bar attached to the wall with screws. Due to the fact that it consisted of two parts, attaching it to the inside of a kitchen cabinet was really easy, because I could not use the provided screws (they were too A piece of metal was attached to the door by using silicone. Overnight, you can let things dry. After I had attached the magnetic bar, I took the photo below. I really like the way it looks, and it holds up really well. I most highly recommend this product. It contains two chef's knives, a boning knife, and a serrated bread knife. It's one of the best items I have.
A variety of magnetic knife holders are available, but only a few are covered with This product fit perfectly in the 22" space on the side of a cabinet, so I bought two of them. It's 1/4" thick plywood veneer, so I used shorter screws that were slightly larger in diameter than those provided with the plywood. While glue and double-sided tape could have been used, screws proved to be the most secure option. A metal plate is fixed to the wall where you choose, then the magnet is attached to it, and the knives are fixed Magnetic material is very strong, so this magnet sticks well, and the metal plate fits into a shallow recess on the back of Put it in place with a snap.
Thanks a lot! My knife holder still works great! Update 12/20/16
I still love it! Magnets are still as powerful as ever and the surface is still as new as when they were first made. My biggest concern was the heavy knives, such as the chef knife, but so far there have been no mishaps. Only one problem is that it's full. And when I get the 12-inch-long carving knife for Christmas, it'll be useless. For the second hanger, I've already decided on a spot. There are only two more paint sticks I need! This is the original review for May 2016 The last thing I want to do is to tuck away the knives in the cutlery drawer anymore. However, knife blocks would take up a lot of space on my counter, so I couldn't justify the purchase. In the end, I came across the magnetic knife holders and thought it might be a solution. After measuring the depth of my cabinets, I realized that I only had 11 inches of space available. It has been reported that some of the reviewers had cut theirs down, drilled new holes, etc. That was way more than I wanted to talk about. During my search, this one caught my eye, it looked perfect. Reviewers say the length fits, it looks good, and it is well reviewed. It seemed like a good idea, so I tried In the end, DH was given the job to install the system. There was no way we could have anticipated the side walls of the cabinet being so thin. The solution he provided. Mounting it on two wooden paint stirrers glued together and then glued inside a cabinet provides a strong foundation for the painting. My cutlery cabinet has been in place for several weeks now, and it works great. I now have extra storage space in my drawer, plus the knives are out of harm's way and easily accessible.
The magnet holds all my metal cooking utensils securely, and since it sticks to the steel side of my refrigerator via the magnet, there is no need to use glue or other additional materials. Even though my fridge is black painted high gloss and very slick, I added a couple of "glue dots" anyway because I was worried that it would slide, but it probably wasn't necessary. Two more of these will be purchased so we can keep our knives and mixing cups. This has created so much free space on our counters and drawers.
The following recommendation is recommended. With a magnetic force of 10" and a stylish design, this knife holder is strong and practical. The item was mounted above my sink through the side of a 1/2" solid wood cabinet with a #8, flat-head screw The head of the machine screws should measure 3/4". The back end of the assembly is attached with a washer and bolt. While the package came with a #6 (smaller head and gauge screw), the #8 worked well as well The screw that came with the drywall anchors is a screw made of wood and drywall. To add extra security, I used machine screws and nuts and bolts over the years as we will be grabbing knives off of this device for a very long time. Using magnets, you fix the back of the metal plate to the wall, and then fix the front (like a cover on a necklace box) to it. It's necessary to use flat-faced screws for the back part because the front part fits flat against it Screws will not fit into the countersunk spaces if they are larger than a #8 (the holes are countersunk to allow for the best magnetic connection). Prior to using RSVP, I tried another product instead. It is the type with the horizontal lines of stainless steel and black magnets in front, the kind that looks more traditional. The knives wouldn't touch all four steel stripes at once so I didn't find it to have the holding power I was looking for.
We have four knives and a razor on there. The number 11 is sharp. My knife is a 5" (7") Global knife, and I am not concerned with its slight slippage. It is great, would buy again and give as a gift without a second thought.
