In hopes that this will work with a Kai Seki Magoroku knife I have and it did not come with a sheath / saya, plus the store I bought it from didn't offer any, so I was tempted to just purchase this to test it. The clip doesn't fit super snug and it's actually quite loose, but it does its job of holding my edge securely inside the slot, and the pin holds it in place.
