In just 2 years of use, both blades of this knife chipped. I bought the knives at the same time. It is a fantastic knife in terms of balance and sharpness, but it doesn't last long as small metal flakes chip off the blade and the serrated edge grows nasty over time. A Japanese bamboo product was purchased by me- My wife and I just received Nakiri and Santoku knives to replace our Global knives, and we're overjoyed with them.
