Lodge skillets have letters and some marks on their bottoms that make them not flat, so if you use it on induction or even an electric range, it won't work properly When you range range, you will waste quite a bit of energy, and it is not as efficient as when you flatten the This is the one I'll choose. It is somewhat thicker than it should be, but it is also half as thick as Due to that reason, it does not keep temperature. While it was cheap enough to keep, if you're looking for the old school pan your grandmother used to make the best fried chicken you're going to be disappointed.
I'm happy to say that it's better than my old non-stick pans, even brand new. The structure is extremely sturdy. It looks brand new even after being used for a year. All of my friends and family will definitely enjoy this pan. Although I read reviews about the pan surface, I find it to be very good, as far as I It's not a good idea to use paper towels to season it, but I don't mind it.
I keep this pan for about a month and it's been nice to finally have a skillet for a change. The company should be able to read my review so they can either refund me or replace the item!.
As far as I can tell, the item works as a cat iron skillet, but not as expected. Lodge 12" cast iron was the first item found in the listing when I searched for it. I ordered it without analyzing it properly (my mistake, probably). The item was not properly seasoned and had a strange blue tint, even though the item name states it is seasoned. The pot looks and goes on like almost any other cast iron pan after it has been properly seasoned, except it smooths out the roughness described in previous comments. We had one with a few defects or gashes in the bottom as well. If I had bought one of them instead I would have purchased a similar cast iron pan that was better made for around $10.
In addition to the base surface, many other users have pointed out that it MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU PURCHASE I believe it is not Lodge cast iron and it is of poor quality. many others have noted, the base surface of the pan is much rougher than a normal cast iron pan and will be very difficult to clean for this reason (making it much more sticky and much more difficult to season nonstick). Aside from the poor quality of their products, they also charge the same price as a real Lodge pan or other cast iron pan of repute. This pan should be avoided at all costs! You should purchase a pan with a name brand and not one that is made in China. Alternatively, stroll through a flea market looking for an old Wagner pan.
Item is very well made and heavy for its size! As I am still experimenting with it, I am trying to avoid overcooking our hamburgers A handle on the other side of the bowl allows it to be transferred from the stove to the oven and the counter top to the oven. Remember to season each time you use it so it does not.
I reviewed the 12 inch preseasoned cast iron skillet pan in this review. My purpose for purchasing this pan was In addition to cooking, I also like to watch movies During camping, it is traditional for people to cook over the fire. Homemade tortillas, chicken cordon bleu, and spaghetti are all good examples. This is what I'm getting at. The cast iron pan I used for this was what I was looking for, and it was exactly what I needed. After buying this pan a few years ago, it has frequently been used. It has always been a great pan to clean. Whenever I season the chicken I rub it with oil, but I also season it again after it has rubbed with oil. To clean it, I also use Quality First Cast Iron Cleaner (which I recommend As if it were armor for a knight). You will find this pan to be excellent if you are familiar with cast iron and have the muscles to perform it. This is not the pan for you if you like to put all of your pots and pans in the dishwasher.
Cast irons are not all like this, before you tell me they are all the same. This is by far the roughest cast iron I have ever owned. I have owned a number of brands before and none have been as rough as this. Although the bottom and sides of the pan are okay, they are so rough that they tear fibers off of my dish towels when I clean or oil them. If you want to wipe it down or season it, you can forget using a paper towel. This product took me 2 hours to get it up to the same level as other brands. I went to a hardware store, bought super low grit sandpaper, and sanded it by hand for 2 hours. As of now, it is working as it should and I can clean it up with a paper towel.
