There was a lot of rust on the pan. There was no way I could use Whether there was anything i could have done to prevent it from rusting is unknown to me. So far, excellent product. Down to 3 stars*. It has only been used once so far and it worked pretty well. Although I did have to clean the pan thoroughly, I did not have to scrub it.
