PLEASE DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BOUGHTING THESE - IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH - COST WHATEVER IT TAKES - As soon as I opened one of the packages this morning, I was absolutely HORRIBLE to discover the amount of SAWDUSK, DIRT, and DEBRIS which spilled out. It was not my fault that I left the first box on our kitchen counter and I did not warn anyone. The garbage contained in EVERY BOX was the same! This is trash in its purest form! My wife and daughter did not know what I was up to when they entered the kitchen to make They tried them and were DISGUSTED with the WOOD TASTE in their drinks and FLOATING SAWDUST floating around them. In addition to avoiding health concerns, I purchased these so that I could protect my family from potential health risks caused by plastics. In comparison to the stuff we bought, I think we'd be far safer using plastic stir sticks (or even lead or tin coated stir sticks). Upon returning home, I'll take a few photos and upload them here after I've returned from work. DO NOT USE THOSE STIR STICKS, AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE COMPANY THAT TRYED TO PASS THEM OFF AS SAFE By the way As an Amazon customer, I am very much puzzled by how products like this can remain on their website.
Is there any USA federal agency that is responsible for testing/monitoring "food-grade" products? Do consumers pay a premium for materials of this quality? I would be interested in knowing the composition of the sticks, as well as if there are any additional contaminants in the "sawdust" and other garbage/debris that are in the packages.
took the stir sticks out of the bag and put them in a clean coffee cup I normally use to store them. In addition to the dust and debris, I noticed some little pieces of paper. In my subsequent inspections, I found these sticks to be covered in dust and powder that appeared to be sawdust. In the photos, it can be seen that we had pretty bad weather. Products made from these are unfit for food use. My return has been arranged.
I bought one box for use at the coffee bar at my daughter's wedding reception in the Spring, but I kept one for myself. A few sticks were broken in the box, but not enough to cause any complaints. The stirrers are biodegradable and do not impart a strange taste to my coffee. I have used the same stirrer for multiple cups of coffee all day.
A box of stir sticks cost me less than $1 last time I purchased them for a customer's coffee service. Problem was, there were so many broken ones in the box, and they had all On the other hand, these stir sticks have rounded corners that look much better than square ones. In addition, the stir stick is wider (almost 1/4 inch wide), which allows them to This is a very good value, in my opinion.
The stirrers we were given did not have any of those problems. They will be purchased again in the future.
As I was purchasing these coffee stirrers I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. These stirring sticks are smooth, have a nice shape, and are sized perfectly. No more broken or splintered stirrers for me! It is very likely that I will purchase.
As long as we are being environmentally friendly and don't use plastic stirrers for our tea, we are becoming more "green". Wooden stirrers like these are just perfect for any party.
The stirrers are flimsy and seem too small to let me mix creamer properly with this product. I don't enjoy stirring my coffee with this product because the stirrers are flimsy and don't do a good job. Moreover, they seem to soak up liquid rather quickly in your drink when left in it for a long time. The reason I am using them is because I have them, but I will not buy them.
