Questions & Answers

The cup is different from the black cup because of what?

The base is wider, so you can see into the cup while you pour, so you won't overfill it. I wish there was a hanging loop, but there is no such thing.

Can you tell me exactly how wide the base is?

4 3/8 inches of space runs the length of the bottom. Two and a half inches are the opening at the bottom where the actual drip of coffee occurs

The material looks like plastic, but it might be ?

You can run them through a dishwasher. They are made of plastic that does not melt. One cup of coffee is made very fast when I want to make it. One (1/4 cup) scoop of coffee grounds can produce about two cups of coffee for me. After that, just rinse it with water.

There are two boxes in this set. What does 2 in one box mean? Are the boxes the same size or do they differ?

It was the only one I had

In spite of its relatively low cost, pour over coffee has the ability to produce excellent results
5/5

For years, I was a French Press fan, but about six months ago I switched to pour over. My first Melitta was a six cup model, but I gradually found that I like the single cup brewing better. I definitely recommend this over the "designer" ones that sell for ten times more than this one. It is an inexpensive item with the right size drip hole, really better than the ones that sell for ten times the price. When you grind top quality beans, make sure you know how to properly pour water, and make sure you use top quality beans, you are guaranteed a good cup of Joe. -Watch some brewing tutorials on You Tube. I think you will love the pour over method. It will be done in a variety of ways. The water should be poured into the middle of the beans, then poured out to the sides of the beans, then stopped until all the coffee has been watered. This produces a coffee grind that is light and low in the center, but heavy on the sides and high at the bottom. Lastly, I pour water on both sides of the filter so they are fully watered, then gradually fill the filter and let it work its magic. A TEA BREWER USES the same type of filter as an electric kettle. IF YOU COOK COFFEE, THEY DO NOT DISTRIBUTE WATER EQUIVARENTLY.

It's been too long since I've seen the old Melitta design
4/5

Since I was a kid the Melitta pour over plastic coffee brewer (called "drip" when it was first released and I dislike calling it a brewer because it implies a heat or cooking process) has been my most faithful companion. There was a handle on the old design, and I really miss that. The balance was far better and it was also sturdier and steadier. It wasn't as pretty, but it worked better because it was more stable. With the newer design, the pour-in is positioned on the inside There is about an inch and a half of plastic rim up on the through section, featuring two cut-outs With the coffee dripping down on either side, the person waiting for their coffee has an opportunity to see the rate at which it is draining. For this price, I feel also like it's a huge price to pay for an imbalanced piece of plastic without a handle. (The smoother handle design is also problematical for people with less coordination in their fingers, which could be a problem for older people there was a classic melitta pour over plastic filter that was less attractive but more functional. (I like new things, upgrades, and redesigns in general, this isn't about being nostalgic. It simply did not work as well as the old design.

I can't get enough! You can do it for less than you would have to pay for It comes with two cups

I love my Keurig, but this makes a great alternative. The drip is a bit slow, but the coffee is still warm when it is done. In addition to being BPA free, each box includes a sample pack of #2 filters (5 per box). It came in a set of two. I've also used regular sized coffee filters a few times and did not encounter any problems.

The interface is easy to understand and The best value and the best quality
5/5

I use this brewer to brew a single cup of coffee when I don't want to allow myself to brew a large pot of coffee. A #2 unbleached paper filter works well with this and produces excellent So my sweetie can have a great cup of coffee at work rather than the garbage he buys from the coffee wagon where he works, I gave her one. One I kept for myself, and the other I gave to my sister. The red color is particularly pleasing to the eye This is so beautiful! This is a highly recommended product.

I probably will use it for the upcoming year

The ceramic version I dropped one too many times, so I opted for the plastic one. In reality, I don't think it is that logical to prefer the old one over the new. I recommend this one because it's inexpensive, does the job well, travels well, and should never break, so you can give the extra one away. It's hard not to like it, is it?.

I'm just not that into it

Too much water flows through the big hole too quickly, causing the flavor to not be extracted completely. The hole in the filter should be covered with a small piece of filter paper, and the regular filter put on top of that if the coffee is too weak. It may be possible for the manufacturer to reduce the diameter of the hole by 20% in order to make the coffee steep.

Still available are the traditional Melitta cone & filter
5/5

A cone & other products made by Melitta have helped me The last 20 years have been spent designing and developing filters. There is no uniform quantity of coffee each day, but I am the one who decides how much coffee I want and how much water I want. The amount of waste is very small The reason I kept a few around is just in case I need them. I mix ground Starbucks coffee with milk and sugar every morning. It was delicious.

This is a very good product

I have bought them locally for much more than this. I ordered 2 red and received 1 red and 1 black. Some may take issue with this, but the red one was a gift and I don't mind having a spare black one. As I recall, other people had the same experience in the ratings. Thank you very much! I am totally satisfied!.
