PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION BY LYING TO US FLIPPANTLY. WHEN IT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT FROM THE UNITED STATES! OUR HEALTH IS VERY IMPORTANT! I PURCHASED THESE TO ASSIST SOMEONE WHO WAS EXTREMELY ILL. ADDING TOXIC CARCINOGENS TO THEIR POOR, LITTLE, SICK BODY IS NOT NECESSARY. Period! SHEESH! br>
Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. Food-grade soda lime glass is used to make the weights. a glass similar to that of a mason jar or a soda bottle
The following is taken from the description: SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE - Made of high-quality soda lime glass that complies with or exceeds all safety requirements for sale in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Mexico, including third-party lead and cadmium tests. This could have been added in response to your query. Thank you for pointing that out, as I hadn't considered it when making my purchase. They're very nice, and the handle makes it simple to get in and out of the jar. They're also quite heavy. I hope you will be able to give them a try.

I'm new to fermenting and came across this product while watching a video on YouTube. These weights are fine, but I've since discovered a more effective way of keeping things submerged in my quart mason jars. Another YouTube video demonstrated how to keep the vegetables submerged using red plastic cups (common at keggers). Simply place the red cup, bottom side down, on top of the jar's compressed contents, mark it at the jar's rim, and cut it off so the lid will fit on the jar. This method is preferable to weights because it leaves enough room in the cup for the liquid that normally overflows. To allow the rising liquid to enter the cup, simply cut a couple of small holes in the bottom. br>br>I still use these in jars that are too small for the cups.
I bought this from a "branded" seller, assuming that it wasn't made in China and that the materials used were of good quality. Imagine my disappointment when I learned it was manufactured in China. Due to the fact that it was sent as a gift, it is not returnable. BE AWARE THAT THIS PRODUCT WAS MADE IN CHINA.
They're weights made of glass. They should work fine for fermenting things if you get them for that purpose. Idk. br>br>ON THE OTHER HAND. If you have them weigh down your cats' water fountain because your one jerk of a ginger won't stop knocking it over for some reason you'll never know because he won't speak English, well, Unless your cat is frail, they are unlikely to work. has a lack of determination Unfortunately, because my Jack is both strong and stubborn, these weights did not solve my problem. Fortunately, he underestimated my own tenacity, and I used carpet tape to secure a placemat to my floor, then used carpet tape to secure the water fountain to the placemat. I used electrical tape to seal the top of the box, and I used more tape to seal the top of the box! It's been more than a week since my floor was cleaned. It was soaked in water from top to bottom. Just don't ask me how or when I'm going to put it in the dishwasher. Okay, I'll give myself a few weeks to make my decision. Send sauerkraut, please. br>br>.
I'm sure it doesn't deserve one star, but I'm extremely dissatisfied with it. One of them is the only one who does not have a non-non-non-non-n The grip on the slipper The others were poorly constructed and could not even be gripped.
So far, everything has gone smoothly and according to plan. One of the four, made of thick, durable glass, even fell about a foot to the floor without cracking or chipping on its way to the dishwasher for a quick high-speed clean. Before you use it, give it a good cleaning. Fit perfectly inside multiple fermentation jars and did exactly what it was supposed to do, allowing bubbles to escape while keeping the vegetables below the brine's surface. Another round in the dishwasher for two of them after two of the jars were emptied (along with the glass jars and lids themselves) and they're back in the original padded box until the next pickle/fermentation project. Also, the shipping was quick and efficient (though I haven't been disappointed with Amazon in that regard yet). 👍).
The bottom is slightly curved rather than flat to deflect any bubbles away from the edges. Nice work on the design!.
I bought these and another set, but THIS SET WAS BY FAR BETTER. They fit better in the jar and have the ideal handle for removing them. The other brand simply isn't up to par.
This was my first attempt at fermentation, and I'm so glad I bought these (along with a set of airlocks) after a friend recommended them to me. Lids must be secured). In my 2-day workshop, I used these. To make dill pickles, use quart canning jars. The weight fit perfectly inside the wide-mouth jar, keeping the cukes below the liquid surface, and the ribbed grib made removing the weight from the jar at the end of the fermentation process simple. Despite the fact that there are so many gherkins, To keep the cukes submerged in a single jar, only one weight was required per jar. When hand-washing the weights afterward, they are a little slick (especially when held by the sides to wash inside the non-slip compartment). I used a rubber mat inside a dishpan of soapy water to prevent any potential disaster, just in case I dropped them. They're great, and I think they'll last a long time.
