Chinese manufacturers make them
In fact, yes. You should assume that your canning jars use standard lid configurations, which are found on nearly all canning jars. The canning jars I own have a wide mouth and size of 4 oz., 16 oz, and 32 oz. There is a lid that fits all Easy Fermenters with a wide mouth. I think what matters is not how large the jar is, but how big the lid is. It doesn't matter what the volume of the jar is as long as it's a wide-mouth
This allows you to keep track of when you need to check the batch based on the day of the month you started it on. While some take only a few days, others take 28 days or more.

This has continued to be a wonderful experience for me. Among the many recipes I enjoy are a sauerkraut made from cabbage and carrots, and fermented pepper blend (some sweet, some spicy). These fermenting lids make fermenting foods incredibly easy, which is why I have recommended them to many of my friends. There will be no disappointment for you. I have rewritten this review from my original As a result of health issues, I had to start making my own sauerkraut and fermented vegetables. In my opinion, this seemed the most stupid thing in the world It seemed like a good proof method so I decided to give it a shot. I have ordered my second batch and I've been hooked ever since. The taste of fresh sauerkraut is better than that of store-bought The canned goods were purchased! You can't go wrong with this one! You will find the system very easy to work with. Now that I'm confident in my ability to make my own veggie combinations, I'm eager to try new combinations. Any person who is interested in fermenting their own vegetables should give this a try.
Updates (update). Last night, we started fermenting two out of three out of the three. When I tried to set up a third, I let the glass weight fall into the jar and it got wedged in there somehow (I was not heavy handed, it just fell in) and after half an hour of trying to get it loose, I brought the whole thing to the recycle center. The fish I lost was a 2qt Ball largemouth, and I am going to miss it greatly! We had to wait until it had been reset before we could get it off. Despite my love for them, I do not yet love them. A fermentation report will be posted as soon as it is available. As of 7/17/19 These lend themselves well to fermentation. The fermentation process has gone smoothly in six of the six batches. Furthermore, I want to praise the quality of their customer service. I thanked them for sending a batch of replacement parts after I sent them an email explaining the situation. That is simply too good!.
As far as I can tell, lids are going well. There's nothing I like more than glass weights. Unfortunately, I did not receive fermentation in two of the carrot recipes in the booklet. Brined heavily, they were hard to eat. In one there was a white film covering the weight and carrots, as well as a white film on the glass. Water in the second had an odd cloudy appearance. I didn't taste any fermented flavor in them. The air was not bubbled. Having fermented for many years, I am familiar with the appearance, smell, and taste of fermentation. I have now retested the recipes with the starter culture, the unheated reduced salt brine, and the other It seems this round is more promising since I can see bubbles this time around. For those of you who have never fermented before, make sure you see bubbles and smell a sharp, distinct There shouldn't be any musty odor in this room.
I found this to be an excellent kit and easy to use in the end. Besides the good information about fermenting, there is also simple instruction on how to do it. It's the design of the weights that gives this product its 4 stars from me. The size of my hands tends to be small (edit If you have big fingers, you cannot grab the weight) and there is no way physically for me to lift the weight - I could not grab it To partially pour the contents in another container, I had to tip the jar and grab the weight at the same time. Otherwise, it seems that the product construction is solid, as I've fermented two jars of ghost pepper mash without problems. A good weight set would be nice, but I might look for one with a better balance. This page was last edited on 11/18/19. I have revised the review to 5 stars. I'd also like to add that the customer service from this company is excellent. Having never used the third lid, I couldn't tell that it was defective until I contacted them and they sent me a new one. I have a second point I bought my product last year but never utilized the third lid until I contacted them. We have redesigned the weights with a lipped knob located on top to make it easy This product is recommended highly, and I highly recommend.
I'm really impressed with the quality of this kit. Their packaging and products show that they dedicated a lot of time and effort to providing good customer service. These lids and weights feature convenient dials so that you won't have to mark or label your jars. The weights also feature a handy little nub at the top so you can easily put them in the jar or take them out. In addition, the pump is easy to use. This tool fits easily in a kitchen drawer because it's small and compact. This little tab on the lid is my favorite part of the product. This makes it super simple to put and take off the suckers. In addition to a handy starter booklet with quick information about considerations, and some simple recipes to get you started, this product comes with a downloadable book that you can use even when your hands are wet. As I said, could not be more pleased. In the future, I might order another set when I start fermenting more and am able to run more at the same time.
Toward the end of 2019 I became aware that I was growing cabbages with a great deal of success, and so I created a dilemma for myself. My body wasn't ready for harvest, so we ate cabbage all the time. As with the previous years, my garden is successful in 2020, so I researched kimchi and sauerkraut to hide my fear. I'm watching a film and I'm a bit confused The thought of mold developing during conventional fermenting methods sounded a bit gross to be honest, so I searched the internet for vacuum lids and found one. It's time to ferment to the best of your ability, When I ordered my set, they arrived just as my cabbages were ready to be harvested. My first three jars of sauerkraut are now in storage. I was shocked at how quickly and easily the 30 day process was completed. So that I am able to do more in 2021, I need to order more lids.
Everything you need to safely ferment vegetables is included, and it works perfectly. In the past, I had considered buying a crock to make fresh sauerkraut, but there had been too many reports of batches going bad from bacterial contamination. Thanks to this kit instead, I found everything I needed. As long as the airlock top is closed, gases can escape but are protected against As long as you select a wide mouth jar, you are able to choose how much produce you want to ferment based on the volume inside the wide mouth jar. Glass weights are useful for submerging floating vegetables in the brine. My fermented vegetables so far have been green beans, cauliflower, and It has been a pleasure tasting each and every one! A fermented vegetable diet is a healthy option, and this book would be a great gift for anyone interested in the health benefits.
It leaks two out of three times when the lids are not airtight. I'm so disappointed.
