As a result of the crash, I did not use the stoppers and airlocks, though I used one set on the next batch, and it worked. In the end, it is how they deal with their mistakes that matters. It must have been the right thing to do by NMS when they handled an item whose shipping costs must be high in relation to the product cost, out of a very small order from someone who is unlikely ever to buy large quantities.
It's most likely the stoppers provided that failed to fit the carboys correctly. I have other stoppers that fit these carboys much better and are a tighter fit, so I know what the issue is.
Although 1 was slightly damaged, I would still purchase again. It is difficult to see, but I think it was a manufacturing error.
It is extremely disappointing to see this in a glass bottle that is designed for fermentation.
I intend to purchase more items from them in the future.
