It is a standard size for brewing airlock stoppers, but I am not sure of its exact size. My second order of these carboys was very happy and I am happy with the product.

It is a good idea to get plastic if this is a new experience for you. I cannot believe how amazing these are. I can't wait for you to read Grade A-plus++. Yes, of course! Slippage is an issue) and have to be dealt with. If you decide to use grip tape, please do so. Having said that? These are really great, strong, and In addition to being easy to clean, glass is heavy, but it performs much better than I drink RO water for drinking, and RO water makes plastic corrode, so any plastic I use is better than a glass. In those words? It is extremely heavy and slippery, especially if it is You can enjoy yourself as long as you are careful. In the process of buying my fifth. After cycling them quite a bit, the house now appears to consume a lot more water than before. I'm in love with.
It seems that there are two types of mead one is known as a Cyser (apple juice and honey) and one is called a Ginger Metheglin (mead For the final step of the brewing process, I have bought two more 6 gallon carboys to rack the brew into. I've been fermenting them in these 6 gallon carboys for two months now. With their lovely thick glass, they're made beautifully. The mead will make an absolutely gorgeous spectacle when these two are paired together! Definitely give them a shot!.
There is no difference between 25 and 6 gallons. My MF arrived in perfect shape no scratches or anything, hell even the first day of brew day I dropped it 3 and half feet and it landed on three large squares of flat stone on my patio. none of it was scratched so I guess it is still a perfect I accidentally mixed 25 gallons of water with 6 gallons of water instead. So I give you points for having very nice Italian glass carboys, much better than the ones I had received.
The first batch of cider took two days to ferment and one of the two 6 gallon carboys exploded, spilling four gallons of cider A total of five gallons of juice (over 70 pounds worth of apples) was shown on the floor. It was fine and bubbly in the air lock. I cleaned the bottle after I got it out of the box and found it to be fine. Don't forget to look closely! I do notice that the glass in one part of the break is thinner than in the other, and certainly thinner than what I expected. It was a loss and a I am very disappointed.
I just have to be careful when I clean it. Except for that, it works well, and it has ribs on the outside to keep it from rolling around when you tip it over for cleaning. Styrofoam inserts were included, and it was packaged very nicely, 1 box in another box. If no one else offers a price that is close to my price, I may buy it again, as I plan on buying several Edit this sentence. After looking it over again, the second one didn't have any cracks, so I gave it.
I am very pleased with this product. It arrived in excellent condition. There is a friend that uses these glass carboys for making vodka, I believe that they are great for fermenting beer and cider. Unlike plastic carboys they are extremely easy to clean and do not have the left over odor of the last batch of beer like my plastic ones. Better yet unlike plastic they will last forever and are not subject to breakage like their plastic counterparts. It is true they are heavy and need to be handled wisely, but they are not a problem as long as you are aware of it before you begin. When empty and full, I take them out of square milk crates to store them in and this makes carrying them around.
Great effort went into packaging and shipping. I was worried about the glass being fragile, but it was very carefully packaged and had "fragile" stickers on it. I immediately noticed that it had arrived in perfect condition and that the quality is excellent. Compared to our other carboys, this has a slightly thicker wall. We have not yet used it to ferment our mead (still in the primal fermentation phase), but I am sure it will be.
The carboy has only been used twice. I made a brand new batch the next morning and checked on it the next day. It was estimated that there were two hundred people It turned out that there were five gallons of wine on There was constant leakage from the bottom all night long. Nothing happened to it. It was not dropped or damaged. There was just a crack and a leak. After picking up the tablet, I was worried that the bottom would come off since the crack reaches almost completely around it. It's over for me with the glass.
