EACH AIRLOCK IS MADE OF CLEAR, STURDY, AND LONG-LASTING PLASTIC AND ASSEMBLED WITH A FOAM INSERTS TO PREVENT DAMAGE DURING TRANSPORT.

VERSATILE: Airlocks that can be used for a wide range of fermentation projects. Brewing craft beers, making wine, sauerkraut, kimchi, hard cider, fruit wine, rice wine, spicy cabbage with cauliflour, shredded carrots and ginger, and pickling are just a few examples.

Drill a 1/2" hole in the lid of your fermenter for easy cleaning. Then, in the lid hole, place the black grommet. Seal the bottle by inserting the airlock's tapered tip into the grommet hole. The airlock kit allows gas bubbles to escape during fermentation while preventing oxygen from spoiling your beer brewing process. The three-piece airlock can be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned with a small brush. The airlock kit can be disinfected by soaking it in bleach water.

Hello,br>This is referred to as a "three-piece airlock" because each airlock is made up of three parts (the body, piston, and vented cap). Our set includes four airlocks and eight grommets.

What's the name of the lid I slapped on top of this?

Any lid with a 3/8 inch hole for the black grommet can have the pointy end of the airlock push into the black grommet and create an airtight seal, allowing only CO2 to escape and nothing to return to the fermenting vessal.

Not at all how it was described! Although it is stated in the description that these are made of polyethylene, they are actually made of PolyStyrene, which is very brittle and easily breaks

I'd been taken advantage of

Four airlocks and eight grommets were supposed to be delivered. There were two airlocks in the box, loose, and no grommets. br>I don't want to send it back because I need one of the airlocks RIGHT NOW to keep my pickles from spoiling, so I'm using one right now. I wish there was a way to simply get the items that were missing.

Worked as required. The unit is simple to put together. It is a good deal. My first batch of sauerkraut fermented successfully and met my expectations. There's no need to burp, and there's no oxidation or unwanted growth to worry about. I drilled the first hole to the recommended diameter, but the grommet was too loose once it was installed, so I drilled the others a little smaller, and the grommet now fits snugly. Make certain to drill a pilot hole as directed. The lid will crack if this is not done.

These were incredibly simple to install on a two-story building. I'm going to make small batches of mead with fruit in a gallon bucket: Simply drill a hole and insert the groomer! br>br>I already had some air locks, but no grommet to go with them - It was worth it to buy new ones because they are so cheap. br>br>I am very pleased with these.

I enjoy fermenting foods and beverages, and I use these three methods to do so. Airlocks in pieces are easier to clean than "S" type airlocks. This kit's price is reasonable because it includes grommets.

Each airlock was individually wrapped in bubble wrap, which was a nice touch. When compared to other airlocks I've purchased in the past, they appear to be at least as sturdy, if not slightly more so.
