Questions & Answers

Pbw/water mix, can it last for days as a cleaner when stored in a storage container, or do you need to mix it every day? Can 1 ounce of Pbw per gallon be used as a cleaner?

The manufacturer of the product responded to a brewing forum with the following information "PBW will last for a year and maybe even longer out of solution.". Usually when it comes to application we would say that it is at its best for the first 24 hours. Once that passes the oxygenation will begin to leave the product. You can still use it until about 24 hours after application. The solution is still used 48 hours after entering the solution, but about 50% of its effectiveness has been lost. When using water, use it as hot as possible, between 100 and 150 degrees A temperature of 160 is a common temperature to use it at, but it can also be used at a lower temperature. The three T's, Temp, and Concentration must be considered at all times. Please let me know how much time you have, what temperature you can use, and how much concentration you intend to use. Ideally, you should consume 120-150 grams a day The solution should be heated to 160 degrees, using 1/2 to 1 ounce per gallon, for about 30 minutes. The adjustments can be made as you see fit. Is it still possible to clean non-sealed saltillo tiles, which haven't been cleaned in a long time? It just so happens to be a fixer upper where the floors need a lot of attention! ?

By breaking down organic materials, organic waste gets broken down. Tile cleaning is not really the best application for it.

What is the difference between dish washer detergent, and this?

The PBW dishwashing liquid can be utilized in dishwashers. In any case, we would suggest using half the dose since it can break down gaskets and seals over time, just like whatever else is used. It is not recommended to replace your existing soap and use only Cleaners such as PBW are intended for heavy duty cleaning.

Besides your brewing equipment, it can also clean your whole kitchen
5/5

It was when I was actively brewing that I became acquainted with PBW Several partial to small batch Belgians as well as a few full mashes. It was easy to clean with PBW. Now it is mostly used for cleaning in place (CIP), and I tend to use it When regularly used, there is little or no need to scrub. In addition to cleaning other household items with PBW, I do so more often than not. I am soaking some shaver blades and foil right now. Although there are decent instructions for use on the vessel, there is tons of advice online on how to use it (when paired with stainless steel, with vinyl tubing, etc. ). When I made beer, I would put tuns, fermenters, and kegs into cip tuns My cleaning routine for hummingbird feeders includes boiling the feeders for a few minutes and then rinsing them thoroughly. As a result, I use extra long and thick cleaning gloves that I have leftover from my brewing days, but regular dish gloves will work fine. As it dissolves the oils and lipids in your hands, this stuff will cause your hands to feel slippery without gloves. Put on gloves before you start!.

You don't need to be a brewer to benefit
5/5

As I searched for a solution to clean my vintage coffee percolator, I ended up discovering Five Star PBW. As a result of the buildup, the basket and spreader were not able to deliver the proper flow of coffee resulting in improper brewing. There were two cups of cold water and a tablespoon of PBW in the percolator. Connecting it to a power source and letting it "brew" the solution was a breeze. Upon completion, I unplugged it and let it sit for one day, submerging all of its internal parts in a pot. There was a dramatic difference between the two results. Following a thorough rinse, the coffee pot looked as good as new. As a matter of fact, I have found PBW quite useful, and more importantly - effective for cleaning a wide range of things. My purpose for using it in a spray bottle extends beyond cleaning my coffee pot, as I also use it to clean the equipment and containers I use for making soap.

The good thing about PBW is that it's safe, inexpensive, and effective for homebrewers and professionals alike
5/5

It's designed to be used by every homebrewer and every professional For a major brewing company, I need to clean as many surfaces as possible. When I've combined these two methods with hot water from the tap, I have found it very effective. My experience with this product is that it dissolves hops, grain, yeast and extract from the inside of fermenters almost instantly. The stainless steel fermenter did not have to be dipped in machining oil before use as it was cleaned before using. I recently purchased a RIMS product called "The Grainfather" through its US Kickstarter campaign. I was advised to clean it with PBW during the first use and every time I use it thereafter. Given I intend to brew a great deal with The Grainfather, I decided it would be a good idea to upgrade to a different cost-effective package for This one is smaller - It wasn't long before the entire container of pounds was gone. If you need PBW, it will probably require 1 to 2 gallons, depending on your performance requirements and the volume of PBW we require It is recommended that you use 2 ounces of this stuff at a time. Therefore, one container should cover about 64 It seems like a lot of brewing is going on. If you look at the price offered when this review was posted, then it certainly is less than one This is the kind of thing I like.

Cleaning product that I have found to be best
5/5

There is no need to do any work because this cleaner takes care of everything. When the water is very hot, it works best. The active time you have to put into it is certainly less than scrubbing with your hands. I usually just fill up any equipment I'm cleaning with the proper dosage and put it in the air for 30 minutes to an hour . . . so the active time is definitely lower. have also used other oxidizing cleaners in the past, but they weren't as effective, and they were more expensive.

I promise that you will be astonished by this

Cleaners like this are great for the environment and are safe to use. A friend of mine who has had experience with microbrewing told my husband about this. After this, he came home and dissolved some of this in some water in our kitchen sink. To begin soaking them, all of our dishes, pots and pans were put in water. I am in awe of how they turned out! After using it, I was able to remove tough, ugly stains from my stainless steel cooking pots that no amount of scraping had ever been able to remove. Our toilets are also cleaned in this manner to remove hard water mineral deposits really easily. The best part is that we don't even need to scrub it You can let it sit a day and then flush it. When our landlord saw the immaculate condition of the toilets, he promptly returned our entire deposit (an unusual occurrence in such an apartment In addition to cleaning glass surfaces and grills, it removes stubborn organic residue from a number of surfaces. If you need to clean your pans, you should take note of the following Don't let it come in contact with.

Dishware made of plastic can be cleaned of soap residue using this method
5/5

It was often difficult for me to get rid of residual soap smells/tastes regardless of how I washed the plastic dishes/cups kids use. Soaked them in baking soda and vinegar, used soap that does not contain any dye or perfume. Despite all our efforts, it was Add a tbsp of PBW powder to each of the soap cups in the dishwasher along with regular detergent in order to solve this problem. I am so happy about how clean my dishwasher is inside and how clear my glass tumblers look - now my dishwasher is like new! A very little haze is present and there are As part of my plan, I will soak the hazier glasses (layered with years of dishwashing residue) in a stronger concentration to see if I can make a dent in it. Although this stuff is a bit pricey, if it wasn't for the fact that the kids' dishes tasted like soap, I may have looked for another solution (probably in vain), but since it works I can't give it any less than 5 stars. A mom blogged about how she got soapy taste out of plastics by removing the odor. Her recommendation was spot on, and I am grateful for it.

Brewers should use this product to clean their brewing equipment
5/5

I think I needn't say anything more than that it's an oxygen-based cleaner that brewers use in brew kettles, fermenters, etc. After 30 minutes to an hour, fill your vessel with warm to hot water, wait 30 minutes to an hour, and then give everything a quick scrub. It is by far the homebrewer's standard, and I highly recommend it.

This is good stuff
5/5

One of my favorite places to go when I'm starting off You can either use SetP or EasyP A challenge has been met by clean. It's very useful for cleaning the equipment and around the kitchen that is more grimy and caked on. After soaking, PBW will soak off labels from bottles and wash away burned-on messes from bottoms of pots and pans with very little effort. You shouldn't use it on aluminum or Teflon PTFE. Just read the label, mix with hot water and soak. After rinsing and sanitizing, use the product again. You should not soak better bottle PET carboys in water for an extended period of time because it will degrade the plastic. However, you only need to soak and rinse for a very short time. It worked well as a laundry aid in a pinch. It is quite costly, however, but I have used it for this purpose.
