The gaskets are well made, and they have the right thickness and density to properly seal and avoid leaks when placed on the curved side of a brew kettle. To give you an idea of the size, the brew pots I use are 16 gallons, 16 inches in diameter. Through the port of my HLT, I am able to fit a 3500w Dernord heating element! I just ordered another.
In addition to liking the stainless steel, I am not happy with how poorly described the measurements are for this item.
In order to prevent the o ring from sliding off, the nut should have deeper grooves and be hand tightened even if the grooves are large.
The sanitary fittings are 5" in diameter. My brew kettle accepted the app without any problems. A 42mm hole was drilled, a 90 degree bend was clamped on the outside and a crescent wrench was used to tighten it. As of now, no leak has occurred. Weldless fittings seem to benefit the most from captured O rings. The product is excellent. I would buy it.
I enjoy having it be a part of my electric brew system!.
In addition to this, I am going to add an element 5500W to a pot. This piece is heavy and solid. It is a good book.
