It really works. I made lavender shortbread cookies with it. I used a cookie scoop to place the dough ball in the press because it didn't have an adjustable depth. Because it sticks to the plate a little, I floured the inside. Next, I'll use it to make bath bombs. There were no instructions included in the package. To replace the design plate, unscrew the handle and nut beneath it, remove the spring, and pull out the metal shaft and plate from the bottom. This is also how you'll clean it.
