Questions & Answers

How many meshes does the screen have?

1/4" mesh is the mesh size of this sifter.

Is this something that can be used for fossil hunting?

My pleasure, thanks very much for contacting us! Considering that the bottom is lighter, the sifter will be accepted for sand, dirt, and small rocks. There is approximately 1/4" square mesh in the diamond shape.

What is the effectiveness of this sifter when used to prospect for gold?

easily built. I used mine to sift dirt from a landscape project. Not being familiar with prospecting, it's hard to say, but I don't see any reason why it would be useless.

Food safety Is this okay to eat?

I'm sure you know that Galvanized Steel is often used for food safety products, and Stainless Steel is often used for sifters. Do not believe it would be harmful but it cannot be used in the way that it is intended. I appreciate Tom and his Trap Shack Company team

It's small and straightforward, but it works well
4/5

Grass has been removed from the parkway so we can replace it with drought tolerant plants. As the grass and other debris grew, it became increasingly difficult to separate them from soil. We decided to give this item a try after finding it online. Even though the screen didn't screen out some of the finer debris, it caught all the large stuff and sped We've got a nice pile of mostly clean dirt we can use as planters and to fill low spots in the yard. The planters are sturdy and well made. My only wish is for it to be half the size. My experience with this purchase was good.

Its just the right size and weight for sifting over the summer
5/5

It's all good It is about 200 square feet that I have sifted. With this little thing you can dig four feet of soil A fresh piece of organic dirt that was previously surrounded by plants, trees, or It would have been an entirely different task to sift my soil into what will one day become fallow, usable garden soil if it had been wider, heavier or shallower. More than a week worth of work would have been futile. I have free time and I can afford to purchase this cheap item which will most likely last for years to come. Despite days left in the rain, the surface has been in contact with everything, and no damage has been done by moisture in the soil. It was a struggle getting rid of the soil and grit, but at least I was able to do it with this product. I appreciate you making a lasting contribution.

I find this to be very useful

The vermiculture (worm compost) is then used to sift it with a sieve, and the worms are then returned to The bucket looks like it will last for a long time. It can be used over a sink and is the perfect size. It surprised me that it worked so well when I thought I would need something bigger.

This will depend on what you intend to do with it
3/5

I found it to be much smaller than I expected, and found that it wasn't as effective at sifting compost out of my compost tumblers as I had hoped. In my opinion, there will be no issue with other sifting applications. I appreciate how durable and sturdy it is. Everything seems fine. Just make sure you double check the size and think about what you're planning on using the product for.

Workhorse little tool that gets the job done
5/5

My garden soil was able to pick out about 150 pounds of crushed stone with the help of this product. Because the sifter was so small, I could shovel it full with one hand and shake the soil loose with the other, making short work of the whole enterprise. Two giant loads of about three pounds of material each time and the frame and screen stayed rigid and intact.

Sifter that is handy for small jobs
4/5

This is a great little sifter for small details. There is a need for a specific size and shape, and it fills the gap It is necessary. I would like a larger frame size to be available and It would be great if different screen sizes could be switched out for different purposes. The one I use eliminates chunks of soil from the transplanting process &amp By removing larger chunks from compost, we can reduce the amount of odors There is no water without. There's potential for it to be more than a handy device.
