The only issue I have is with the installation process. This is something I have used several times now and it works great so far. My dry ingredients, such as salt, couldn't pass through the sieve when I sifted them all together. It is impossible to remove every grain of salt. Other than that, I am happy with it.
I bought these to try to salvage some flour from the freezer. I needed it, and I got it. The fact that you get two sizes is a nice touch.
I may have gotten a bigger size and should have gotten a smaller one.
It is a good product with good quality and is a good size.
Semolina doesn't quite open wide enough. For all-purpose garments, 60 mesh is the correct number It is made up of all-purpose A lot of research is required on the internet to discover which sieve/screen is appropriate for the particles to be sieved. All the documents that I have are being sifted My mesh size is a bit smaller for semolina because there is also all-purpose flour and I am sifting both. The particle sizes for both has been checked against opening sizes in the mesh, thicknesses of different mesh materials (plastic, nylon, metal, etc), and even though the particle sizes are slightly different, a US mesh (stainless steel) 60 mesh seems to work very well A large enough hole for the whole wheat flour, but not large enough for the coarse semolina (80% of it is rejected, and it takes a long time). As I chose the right sieve, I had to refresh my memory of what microns are (micrometers). The diameter of a meter is 1 million micrometers. A mesh of 60 openings per linear inch means 60 openings on each side of the mesh. Using a 25 kg bag of all-purpose flour, I sieve the flour For sifting straight directly into a kitchenaid bowl, the 8-inch sieve is perfect. Overall, I'm very pleased with these sieves, they are quite sturdy and durable, but for semolina I'll look for a slightly closer mesh.
