A great item until I discovered that part of it is defective. One fourth of it cannot be used. *BF* I can't use the fourth cup because it is smaller and doesn't fit. The metal holder is not held in place. It can be hard to tell from the picture, but it does not.

had gotten one of these years ago, so she wanted to make a whole bunch of them for a family get-together in the near future The two of us were enjoying our time together. It was too few for the party so we searched for additional ramekins that would fit this so she could cook 8 cream brulees instead of 4 each. It wasn't enough, so we went in search of additional ramekins. This is one of the areas where I feel this company has really let In my experience, there are 3 different brands that all contain 6 ounces, as that is what they say theirs Here is a picture of where we came closest to fitting and the ones on the right are the ones that came with it and fit properly. Our company tried to contact us to see if we could order replacement ramekins without success. Unfortunately, we were unable to find any information on the web. This set is very disappointing since you can only buy ramekins that fit. There will hopefully be no broken ones! It's extremely hard to believe they cook creamy creme brulee, but they do! Although my wife uses a different recipe than the one in the first set, my wife came with a recipe with this set.

After reading reviews on this product, I decided to buy it, hoping to try making egg custards. Some reviews complained that the pan wasn't dishwasher-safe. You can wash the pan/rack in the dishwasher, but I don't know why you would THINK that's a good idea. So far, in the 2 batches I've made, it has been trivial to clean in both cases since the device is filled with water. A baked good is not necessary There are no ramekins for stuff on the rack or pan.
Now, please be aware that ramekins cannot be replaced for broken ones according to a comment I read. My wife happily used this product during her first attempt to make Creme Brulee for our family, but I wish the size of these sets were larger than their 6-piece sets. Ramekins are made from porcelain and hold one ounce. There is nothing better than a 10 to 12 ounce ramekin of Creme Brulee at some of the restaurants we have eaten at.
