My first test of this jelly roll pan was the 3-inch one that I made by using it only last week 1) I used my very large, preheated baking stone at 500 degrees for 1 hour, even though it says it's only up Although the temperature was set to 400, I did spritz the oven with heavy amounts of water for steaming. It is gratifying to report that it passed this short test even though it only was exposed for a short period of time. I had no problems with it and it did not sustain any damage. Even better, it did not warp like lighter weight pans will (e. g. Often referred to as heavy With the baking stone under a heavy enameled broiler pan filled with hot water for extra steam, I used as much steam as possible. The beam bent almost immediately with a burst of sound). The bottom line excellent performance and high quality. Besides this item, I plan to purchase a Home Naturals jelly roll pan in order to compare the performance. There is a possibility the home naturals may just outperform I don't know when I'll be able to perform this. In my opinion, these two differ primarily on the following two points As opposed to the Home Natural pan, which is made with 18/10 stainless steel and shipped from the USA, the Kitchen Supply pan is made with 18/8 stainless steel and shipped from China. We wish all of you the very best of luck with your baking! I have added an update for 11/3/09 As a matter of fact, Having been rated 5 stars, I have now rated this 3 stars. It did not warp on the first or second use, but it did warp on the third use at a certain temperature. 425 degrees is a degree of heat. As well as warping at 350 degrees, it also deformed at this temperature. I am not sure why it didn't warp on the first 2 uses, but it has begun to It's now up to me if I shell out the bucks for an All Clad Shallow Baker ($119).
I had no problem coming off the sticker. I did not have any rust on the body. The gooey stuff is just what I put on It had been placed on the sticker, and I had peeled it off. During my peeling, I noticed that the goo gone had gone under the sticker, so there was no residue left behind. I washed it after that. It is so easy to wash the pans. The pans do not have any rust on them. I really enjoy them. As another reviewer suggested, I make sure the entire pan is covered, and I haven't had any warping issues. There was a time (once) when I accidentally put Taquitos in one of my pans and did not cover the whole pan, and the taquitos warped, but they immediately returned to their original shape. In the past, I've had aluminized steel pans that warped at high temperatures as well, and those pans also had rust issues. In the future, I plan on keeping my pans When the pan is fully occupied with food, I have reached temperatures up to 475 degrees without warping.
In this item, I read the following negative reviews My disagreement is that this product is too thin, does not deserve the money, etc. A stainless steel item at this price is hard to beat. It cleans nicely with Barkeepers Friend (which is recommended for all stainless steel cookware) and bakes and browns well. It's not a good idea to put stainless steel cookware in the dishwasher since it'll rust over time. A better baking sheet can cost a fortune, but for the price, this one is a capable, sturdy.
I bought this pan to replace some old cookie sheets that I had been using as prep sheets instead of baking sheets. As I did not want the pan to be too thin and flimsy, I avoided buying the cheapest stainless steel pan I could find. The rolling pin gets the job done for rolling out cinnamon rolls and other tasks I don't want to do directly on the counter, but it has a little bit of flimsiness (is that a word) at Despite its solid construction and nicely formed and rolled sides, the bag is very comfortable in hand.
There is a big disclaimer on the package for this pan it's not as described! A 10 is given to it. The size of the image is 5 inches by 15 inches. Jelly roll pan with a diameter of 5". That's not what it is! It's 10 x 12 inches. This 11" x 14" sheet is blank on one side. When shopping for the 10 I wanted specifically, I looked for it. There are five 15-inch squares on a sheet. The pan is 5" in diameter. As it arrived, I was disappointed to find that it was shorter than stated. Bakers are already familiar with the issue of batter running over the edge of bars or cakes that require jelly roll pans. Measurement details should be included. Having a pan I cannot use has left me with no option but to discard it.
In these days, it is difficult to find a really good heavy-duty pan, and this is not one. Despite normal cleaning, the pan warps easily and scratches very easily. After three washes, rust began to appear.
A beautiful pan made of high quality materials. The stainless steel has a high-quality mirror finish. The heavy gauge gives a tough, heavy feel. At a reasonable price, this is a commercial grade pan.
The old, slightly warped, thin metal jelly roll pans I had were always a hassle to use for making jelly roll cakes. The batter would be too thin on one side and too thick on the other due to the warp. With this new pan, you'll find that it's made of much heavier and thicker metal, and it is also warp-resistant. It does exactly what it should. This is a wonderful jelly roll pan that I highly recommend.
