Questions & Answers

Has anyone washed these in a machine? Is everything all right? Is it possible to dry? If you hung them damp and liked the rustic look, would you need to iron them?

Yes, I washed and dried two sets of these; here are the details from my recent review: br>The ones that were machine-dried shrank in length by about 2â. There was no discernible shrinkage from the warm wash alone. br>The weave is just as loose as it was before (and can't be distinguished on the machine from the hand). Especially the ones I machine dried, they WRINKLED a lot. Not surprising for linen, but getting the wrinkles out of these seemed to be much more difficult than with other linen I own. I don't recommend using a machine to dry them for that reason alone. I found that partially drying them on the line (for about an hour) and then ironing them while they were still damp worked best for me. After that, there were still some wrinkles, but I don't mind because they give the curtains a linen-like appearance. (You can see it in the third picture, where the curtain is against the wall)br>All the panels lost some stiffness in the wash (they're still not as soft as other linen I own, but you wouldn't know it by looking at them)br>There are a few flaws (snags here and there) that I didn't notice before washing, but nothing you'd notice unless you examined them very closely.

Is each panel 54" wide, or does that refer to the total width of both panels?

The width of each panel is 54".

I realize they're sheer, but are they thick enough to keep the neighbors out? thanks! ?

Although these are substantial and lovely curtains, the photo accurately depicts the sheerness level. You might not be able to see inside during the day, but if you turn on the interior lights, you should be able to see something in the evening. The natural color is darker and offers more privacy than the ivory, but they are both lovely.

Is a third rod hanger required to hang these panels in the middle of the rod?

I have three panels on each side, totaling six panels. Yes, I do have a hanger for the middle rod. The rod is also given additional support by the middle hanger.

These curtains are absolutely gorgeous
5/5

These curtains are fantastic; they're real linen and cost about a sixth of what comparable curtains at Pottery Barn would cost. The color is lovely in its "natural" state. I agree with another reviewer who described these as a soft mushroom grey when they first opened the package. They take on a more tan color when light streams through them during the day. In any case, it's lovely. I ordered the ivory ones as well, just to compare, and I didn't care for them nearly as much, despite my expectations. Those appear lovely and creamy right out of the package, but when hung up, they appear cheap in a way that the "natural" ones do not. br>br>I've included a photo of them next to some linen pants in a more 'oatmeal' color to show the difference in color. br>br>I machine washed (warm, delicate cycle) all five of the sets I ordered and machine dried (low heat) two of them (partially, partially (accidentally)). Some observations (as seen in the photos): br>The ones that were machine-dried shrank by about 2 inches in length. I don't recommend using a machine to dry them just for that reason. I found that partially drying them on the line (for about an hour) and then ironing them while they were still damp worked best for me. After that, there were still some wrinkles, but I don't mind because they give the curtains a linen-like appearance. (You can see it in the third photo, where the curtain is against the wall)br>All the panels lost some stiffness in the wash (they're still not as soft as other linen I own, but you wouldn't know it by looking at them)br>There are a few flaws (snags here and there) that I didn't notice before washing, but nothing you'd notice unless you examined them very closely. br>br>I used this tape to hem them, and it worked wonderfully. (With the exception that my pins were sliding all over the place due to the loose weave. ) But the fabric holds wrinkles so well that all I had to do was fold the curtain to the desired length and use my hands to press along the crease. Pin- Hemming is not included in the price of the item. ) .

These are 100% linen and the quality looks and feels amazing
5/5

They were too long by about 6 inches so I washed them in warm water and tumbled them to about 80% dry in the dryer . They shrank by about four inches, and I'd rather have them too long than too short (curtain floods, eek). They can easily be steamed to remove the wrinkles, but I prefer the softer appearance! br>br>The ivory is exactly as I had anticipated. Because we have a north-facing window, I wanted something that would provide privacy while not blocking out all of the natural light. br>br>I ordered two sets, each with the same width and length of panel. This purchase has made me very happy!.

Beautiful panels at a great price
5/5

I was looking for some quality looking sheer panels in a 96" length for our basement family room to help filter some of the sunlight that shines through, but I didn't want anything heavy or thick to block our views, so these panels are fantastic for the price! I've had custom panels made before, but with 8 panels and linen, the price seemed ridiculous, so I started looking for ready-made panels and hoping for the best; I fully expected these to be another set I returned due to the low price, but they turned out to be even better! The linen weave isn't as tight as I've seen in other curtains, but it's also not as loose as I've seen in others. It's, in my opinion, the ideal weave for a light, high-quality neutral panel. I hung them with curtain hooks that I threaded through the top hem and attached to curtain rings, giving them a relaxed pleat look and making it much easier to slide them across the windows if needed. Pulling the metal hook through the seam requires extra caution, but once done, they are virtually undetectable, and the curtains are well-made, so the seam does not show signs of being pulled loose. I ended up purchasing several of these sets, as well as several in the natural color, which I adore! Ivory is a lovely creamy color that looks exactly like it does in the photo. Another great feature was that the lengths of each panel were nearly identical, which is something that seems to be a problem nowadays when purchasing non-custom curtains. For the price, I highly recommend these, and I'm hoping they bring back the longer lengths because they're fantastic!.

Curtains are awesome! I'm so glad I got these drapes! They are perfect!br>I looked in every store for several weeks but didn't want to settle for some cheap-looking polyester curtains
5/5

These are 100% Linen and you can not get a better deal anywhere (you typically only see them sold per panel if they are high quality material)! They are extremely soft (I ironed them on the Linen setting with high steam and they were wrinkle-free), have a lovely delicate texture (yet are still quite sturdy), and are a beautiful color. They are sheer, but during the day they block the view into the room! br>If you're looking for light curtains that will make your room look airy and high-end while staying within your budget, look no further. This concludes the discussion. br>Excellent value for money!.
