Panels measure 42"x42" per panel, but once threaded onto a rod, they cover less than 42". This is because the grommets make the curtains drape around the rod zigzag-like. Children often run in circles up and down sidewalks and yell as loud as they can in an attempt to get attention while their parents watch from their patio while drinking wine. Having the quiet evenings I used to have without sacrificing the appearance of my apartment has been invaluable.
