The drape has large holes for the rod to pass through that are encircled with metal rings. My concern is that the metal would make pleating the material too difficult.
About 1. You can hand a sheer rod behind it if it's between 5 and 2 inches long.

To emphasize the height and wonderful old windows, I decided to go for the dramatic look and bought 108" curtains. I needed heavy-duty rods and finials that could not only support the weight but also look good. These are absolutely stunning. The finials are substantial (rather than flimsy). It was well worth the extra diameter- The rods are extremely strong, and they will not bend or bow. I also noticed that the brackets are larger and of a heavier gauge of metal than those typically supplied.
I usually go to the store to buy rods because I want to see the design in person to see if it flows and is sturdy. I decided to take a chance and try Amazon. I was not disappointed in the least. This rod has a beautiful finish, is very sturdy, and arrived quickly. I bought antique black, which has a dark brownish appearance, which is exactly what I wanted. It looks fantastic, and I'm very pleased with my purchase and the way it turned out.
After determining the cost of wood rods, which are the traditional method for hanging drapes such as these, I knew I had to come up with a different plan. Then there were these! I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if these would be sturdy enough to hold my drapes, but as soon as I unboxed them, I could tell and feel the difference in quality. These aren't your average Walmart curtain rods, with their flimsy hardware and small rods; these are monsters! They have a strong bracket that is about 3 inches deep, and the rods themselves are a good diameter. The finial is large but not overpowering. They're lovely, and they allowed me to finally hang my curtains, which made my room feel complete. The only issue is the cheap anchors that come with them; I guess the general rule is that you should not use the drywall anchors that come with them because they are difficult to install and do not perform as well as heavy duty anchors from Home Depot and Lowes.
The fillials have a nice look to them, and the rod is sturdy. The wall bracket, on the other hand, is obnoxious. The bracket's poor quality contrasts with the rest of the rod. With the curtains, I attempted to conceal the brackets. With the curtain rods I bought from Bed, Bath & Beyond, I found better quality brackets. Beyond.
For the price, it's a great buy; it's sturdy enough to hold my heavy curtains, and I'm glad they included enough hardware to keep them in place. The brushed nickel finish is not as cheap-looking as some I've seen. I had no trouble putting them up, and they look fantastic! I'll upload a photo as soon as I can. It appears to be very elegant.
This is my current favorite. They arrived on time and in good condition, as stated. My daughter's boyfriend installed them correctly and securely on my window in about 15 to 20 minutes. It was simple to follow the directions. Because I have blackout curtains on the rod, this curtain rod is fairly sturdy! So, if you're looking for a stylish rod to add character to your home on a budget, this is the item for you. These are very nice and definitely worth every dollar spent on them. I found these in other stores about the same material and they snapped, so these are very nice and definitely worth every dollar spent on them. The pieces that hold the rods in place are also quite sturdy, so I won't have to worry about them bending or falling out of the wall. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
curtain rod made of metal The curtain rod is well-made and attractive. Given the weight of the rod, the molly bolts that came with it were thinner, didn't spiral like a screw, and weren't as strong as I'd hoped. Instead, I used the kind that can be easily screwed in with a screwdriver that I had on hand. The rod itself is in excellent condition and is entirely made of metal. Unlike other finials, these are not made of plastic.
This curtain rod has a sophisticated appearance to it. It gives your room a polished, professional appearance. This is something I'm glad I got.
