However, as other reviewers have noted, these clips are difficult to Their strength and their compact size (the clip, itself, is only 1/4" wide by 3/4" long) may be the reason for their success. Although they can be difficult to open, their strength arises from their difficult opening. For our apartment, we used the shelf brackets to hang some AmazonBasic room darkening curtains and sheers. In addition to holding the sheers in place, these clips helped hold the curtains in place as well. We even use them to hold our 96" tall patio door curtains without issue.
There were 2 packages of 120 heavy duty curtain clips in my order. One package of 120 clips with small hooks was sent to me. Unlike the first package, the second contained only 60 clips with larger hooks. It was not until a month later when I hung new curtains that I opened these boxes. Next, I noticed a difference in the clips, and I counted them. Sadly, I was extremely disappointed to discover that 30 days had passed since I had requested a return.
I was a little surprised by how small the clips are, but I'm still pleased with their size. Over 40 of them were unopenable by hand or they had some kind of seal or finish on them that I had to pry open with pliers. These are the clips I used to hang.
A few curtain rods in my house have small hooks at the back designed to hang pleated curtains. I have been searching for those for a long time. Luckily, I found these clips. I can clip the new sheers on my old sliders, and I can use the clips to hook them onto my new sheers. I found it to be very effective.
I used these to hang up my oil paintings. It's a solid clip that holds its place well. They were the perfect size to fit in a small metal chain because of the hooks on the clips. There is no flimsiness to them, and they don't move. In the end, I had extra clips because I used one clip per oil paint, so I could use them for other.
To keep my paint tubes organized, I clipped them to a rack with these hooks. The paint tubes only need to be hooked and unhooked to the rack without having to unclip them, which makes them easier to retrieve and clean. The only problem was a few were tricky to open, but there were so many other great things to do! If I needed to open them, I think I could do so with some elbow grease and a good pair of pliers.
It seems their construction is sturdy and I do not believe that they could be pulled down easily. The problem with every other clip, however, was that none of them opened. As a result, I tried clip after clip until blisters formed on my fingers and thumbs. In the future, I would not purchase this item.
It would be better to buy another brand. It would not be a good idea to buy.
